Ask this same question but replace "Muslims" with "Christians" or "Buddists" or "Jews," etc.
ALL families start their kids' religious upbringing at that age, you ignorant, prejudiced moron. Muslims are stereotyped as being hostile whereas most Muslims are not the fanatics you see in the media. They are peace-loving people who believe in God and doing good, just like practitioners of other faiths. Have you read the Koran? Have you spoken to a true Muslim? Do you know anything about the religion aside from the 1/1000000th of what the American media shows you for two seconds on the news? I highly doubt it. So why don't you go educate yourself. And if you're so down on the Muslim religion because of the hostile image it's gotten through the media, then I think you need to take a good, hard look at your own hostility, regardless of what religion you are.

3. Do you think the baby would be confused by learning 2 languages (its parents would speak their native language which is Arabic when it is with them and I would speak English to it when its with me)? Babies are not confused by learning two or more languages. Absolutely not a problem. This situation is prevalent in lots of countries. My own two daughters were exposed to three languages. 4. Is it ever too early to start teaching baby about Islam or should I just leave that up to its parents? Ask the parents what is their preference.

Im curious as to why people find ordinary things done by muslims as somewhat sinister....every family that considers its faith to be central and important to them...start teaching their children about it from an early age...muslims are no different.
Muslim parents have all the same fears for their kids as nonmuslims....there is no promise that your child will follow your faith...you just teach it and live it the best you can and secretly hope you've presented God to them just as God would want you to.

For the same reasons the parents of children of that age take them to church services. For religious indoctrination. I don't know what parents are afraid of, if anything, but if the child has an active mind, and questions the improbability of the facts as they are presented, they will seek their own answers.

Pretty much any religion, be it christianity, judaism, or in this case, islam, start teaching kids early. It's along the same lines of sunday school for christians...the sooner you get 'em hooked in the religion the better.

It is good to start learning about God and religion from an early age. If ur not a religious person then u probably wont agree, but personally I think it's good.

All Misguided religious freaks "Brainwash" their children while they are very young. They ARE afraid that their children will grow up with a mind of their OWN. To me, It's the worst Abuse that they could put on their child, trying to warp their little minds at such a young age.

You have to know that in islam, children who leave the faith will be seen as people who have done a great disservice to God and requires severe punishment. According to the sunnah, people who do so will be given a chance to revert. Failure to do so warrants a death penalty. Therefore, muslim parents who love their children will try their very best that that would not happen.

Not even - they pray into the newborn's ear too.
That bothers me a lot - if I had children, I would want them to make the decision on their own, when they're older.

we just teaches them to say the name of God before they eat, or do some simple thing, or tell them some old stories of wisdom before they go to bed. it dosen't matter if you taught them young or old. when a person grows up he will realize the false from the truth.
