I've been incessantly thinking for several months about whether there is an afterlife. I've had two or three incidents in my life that may have been supernatural or spiritual, but I'm not sure. I am a Christian, and at first response I believe that that there is...but its the proverbial "seeing is believing" mentality that makes me still have some doubt.

Has anyone out there had an undeniable experience that makes him/her confident in an afterlife? With all due respect...please don't respond with Bible scripture, I simply want to know if anyone has had any personal experiences that add to their belief of an afterlife. Serious answers only please!!!

Yes, there is an afterlife. I am confident because of many reasons. First we learn this ever since we were born. We also are told we can ask and we shall receive. God hears our prayers. The saints intercede for us. Many favors for requests were granted. Try asking a saint to intercede for you to God. When you get what you ask for you will know the saint is living and not dead. Therefore, you will also be confident that there is an after life. God bless us.

Basically no one can be confident that there is or is not an afterlife. This goes for believers and atheists alike. We all like to pretend we are so all knowing, but the fact is no one alive has died.
Even those that "say" they have had near death experiences, it is debated if the brain has last minute visions at death etc - so there will always be a debate and therefor always that nagging feeling that we are not sure of the truth..
The only way the debate ends, is when you die :) at which point you will experience something or your will cease to exist.
I too have had some experiences in my life that I would consider spiritual experiences, and it makes me optimistic that afterlife could exist in some form.

Seriously? Yes, though it would be hard to get across. I think lots of people have, though it tends to be a personal thing. That is the nature of the spiritual.

My own experience? I've studied, prayed, and talked with god for years. I've received confirmation. And that is really what it is all about. Working and praying and receiving those spiritual experiences that it sounds like you already have had a few times. It is not the kind of thing you can get once and ignore, but something you have to continuously strive for. Its like a muscle, it atrophies with time.

That is how a testemony works, as you work it harder and harder, you get closer and closer to god. You are closer to him, your answers come clearer, you knowledge surer. As you ignore it it fades and you forget.

I'm sorry, but in the end, seeing is rarely believing, at least if you believe in the bible. The only people who stick with it are those who gain that internal knowledge. All the miracles in the world never converted a soul, though sometimes they put them on the right path.

Keep studying and praying, and above all, keep an open mind to knew truths. Truth can never really shake your testemony, only strengthen it, if you are in touch with your father in heaven.

I'm happy that you are in God's family, but I'm concerned about your doubt that creeps in. The author of your doubt is satan who is trying to lure you on the damned path to hell with him. You need to be a warrior for Christ and battle the temptation to doubt with the Word of God is necessary to ward off the attacks. There is a Spiritual battle in this world. I know for a fact that there is an afterlife thru my Faith in Jesus with whom I have an intimate relationship with, thru God's Word and thru life's experiences that I do not let go by as coincidences. I stop to smell the flowers and the miracles in life. Read the Bible in order to grow in your faith. The more you grow and mature as a true christian, the stronger will your faith become. Pray for strength in your faith. Allow God's love crowd out the deception of doubt. In God's care.

What the Bible says about heaven and hell is true.

All of the Biblical prophecy that has been fulfilled has been 100% acurrate.

No reason to think that it wouldn't be right about the after life.

Read and study the Word of God. You don't want scripture, but man, that is where you will find the truth.

no i've never had an experience, but i do agree with you. i go through periods where i question my faith. all Christians do. you just have to pick your Bible back up and keep on trucking through life. God will help you understand. and yeah "seeing is believing." human minds aren't strong enough. God didn't make us as smart as Him. if we did, why would we worship Him? we would be able to do the same things as Him.

i believe in the cycle of rebirth... (i'm not christian).
that we are born, carrying the sins of our past lives, to this world, and it's how we carry ourselves in this world... that it determines how we would fair when we die.
when we do good deeds, bla bla bla... we reach the stage of nirvana, and if we don't repent... we'll be reborn to suffer again. if we do worse, we end up worse... if we do better, but not as good, we end up a little better (that's the difference between the rich and the poor, the pretty and the ugly, human and animal)
i believe this. that's y some ppl say they dreamed of bizzare things, it's the memory of the past lives... our brains contains HUGE capacity, but nobody's been able to retrieve anything... :) how's that for serious?

The only think I am confident about is that I will know the answer to that question when I die.

I have never encountered any evidence, of any sort, suggestive of the existence of an afterlife.
