Being raised in upstate NY yes, I would agree. And there are lots of Islamic people who have immigrated to Canada from other countries, not that they are the only terrorists, but still....

The ones to the North dont scare me ...they are not corrupt . The ones to the South are corrupt , unethical and unorganized . I feel much safer knowing the Canadians are guarding the border then some Mexicans on the take . 500.00 dollars and a pound of opium could persuade a Mexican border agent to look the other way from any middle easterner .
Canada doesn't play that game which is why people who live there generally stay there .

Canadians aren't trying to escape to the USA en masse to get away from the horrible mess they've made in their own country. As a matter of fact if things keep getting worse in the USA Canada will have to build a wall to keep Americans (and their Mexican yard guys) out of Ontario.

I'm dismayed by your use of the word "enemy." You are implying that anyone crossing the border is an enemy, which poses your quesiontion in a xenophobic light.

But you also left out all of our ports - Barges bring in containers, only 2 percent are monitored.

Instead of "enemy" ask "threat" and I'll agree that immigrants from Mexico do not pose threats, that unprotected shipments and undocumented but legally entered people pose higher threat.

Certainly not the Mexicans, not in a national security sense. Terrorists are astute and will use the non-monitored border. Mexicans are just here to make a better life of their families and contribute to the economy. Our enemy is our hypocrisy --- people always need a scapegoat.

The Canadian border is deemed safe by many because it is presumed that there are no illegal entrants between US and Canada unlike the Mexican border.

there is not any want. The border in Mexico is quite to renounce unlawful immigrants, no longer terrorits like a number of you prefer to declare. Terrorits comprise visas granted by using the U. S.. Terrorits have numerous money, which the U. S. loves. All they might desire to tutor is info of money and that they get a visa. keep in mind the 9/11 adult adult males? All on student visas.

Well, stuff comes through both borders. But on the Canadian side at least there is another government trying to stop it. Also, the economy differential and education differential isn't a constant magnet in that direction.
