Dentists suicide rate isn't what it used to be.
You either can own your own practice or been an associate of one. Many work 4days a week, 8 hours a day. Some work more than others. You make a very good living. Depends on the size of the practice and how much overhead you have. Anywhere from $200,000 - $800,000/yr. Heard of some dentists making about $1million

I've heard that dentists are well paid, but that they also have a very high suicide rate. I've know several dentists, and they all had high job satisfaction, so I think it just depends on the person and the type of client (which may depend greatly on geographic region.)

Dentistry is a very fulfilling occupation. But there are times when it can be like pulling teeth.
