People who go the evolution route seem to assume that we do nto believe that dinosaurs existed.

I believe they exsisted..I believe there are still some around.

The Bible mentions dinosaurs.

But I a curious, is it thought that we do not know that dinos were real?

Also, everyone keeps mention Nessie..who I believe very well could be a dino, but there are a lot of others that look like Nessie all over the world, including here in AR in the White River

For a long time, creationists said that dinosaurs weren't real. Now most have to admit that they are. But they have to somehow argue that dinosaurs existed a couple of thousand years ago, tough to do with all the modern dating techniques. The bible doesn't mention dinosaurs. The descriptions you are thinking of- fire breathing scaled beasts- fit dragons, not dinosaurs. Even if creationists now admit dinosaurs existed, they still have to deny most of what we know about dinosaurs, which is almost as bad.

Most of the answers by Christianity say that while dinosaurs were real they had to coexist with humanity at some point and THAT is just plain retarded. We all kinda assume that you believe they existed, except for the real wackos. There aren't still some around, there are species that have remained relatively unchanged since the dinosaurs but there aren't any large "terrible lizards" left (well, maybe Nessie).

The bible does not mention dinosaurs. It mentioned many different creatures believed to be dinosaurs by fundies and gellies but are not dinosaurs because no dinosaurs have been shown to exist at that time when looking at the ages of the bones found.

I don't think that Christians don't believe in dinosaurs... I think they desperately want to cling to the "dinosaurs were alive when humans were" story because it justifies their belief in god.

It's not true, it will never be true no matter what facts believers twist to make it true.

Um, where in the Bible does it mention dinosaurs? Are you reading the KJV? 'Cause I am.

Edit:

Job 40:14-24 (I'll add parentheses whenever I see something wrong with what "God" says).

Behold now Behemoth, which I made with thee. He eateth grass like an ox (Dinosaurs didn't eat grass, it didn't exist in their time - oops). Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly. He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together (erm... stones? Maybe it's a metaphor, but still). His bones are strong as pieces of brass (as far as I know, dinosaur bones are as strong as ours). He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him. Surely the mountains bring forth food, where all the beasts of the field play. He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reeds, and fens. The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about. Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasten not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth. He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pieceth through snares. (Uh... what? Dinosaurs couldn't drink rivers).

So, let's compile this description.
"behemoth"
1. Eats grass like an ox.
2. His strength is in his loins.
3. He has a tail, it's like a cedar.
4. He's... um... rocky...?
5. He drinks rivers (implying that he's very, very large).

Basically, it's big and has a tail. That description could fit almost anything that's... well, uh... big and has a tail. Besides, even dinosaurs couldn't drink the entire river Jordan. That's ridiculous.

You are confusing Christians with Fundamentalist Christians. Most Christians are NOT fundamentalists. And the fundies don't really seem to be very Christian. They tend to ignore Jesus's teaching of tolerance, peace, love, being non-judgemental, and helping the poor. And they are the ones who believe dinosaurs co-existed with man. They also believe Noah was 600 years old when he built an ark and was able to put two of every dinosaur, elephant, rhino, and 20 million bugs on that ark.

The bible mentions dinosaurs? Are you sure, hon? Because there are more of you who will admit that dinosaurs aren't ever mentioned.

Even worse than knowing that most Christians believe that dinosaurs existed is the knowing that many Christian believe that dinosaurs existed alongside man instead of millions of years earlier.

What happened to the good ol' days of "The devil put those fossils here to trick us"?

yes, in the Bible in says that man walked along with great beasts.

we, as Christians, know dinosaurs existed. some believe the 7 day thing, others dont. im kinda going towards the God guided evolution through his seven days. hey, He can do whatever he wants. His days are probably different than ours. why can't His days last many many years? only God knows what he really did.

and to those who think Christians are all the same- really we arent. yes, there are those who are radicals, but there are those in every religion. the true blue Christians dont pick at athiests. we pray for them and hope that you find the way to God. please don't assume before you know ;)

No, it is not thought that Christians don't believe in dinosaurs. Only an idiot would believe that and I don't assume Christians are idiots. However some fringe elements of Christianity do believe absurd, unsupportable ideas, such as the earth is 6,000 years old, or dinosaurs and humans lived side by side. No educated person, Christian or otherwise, believes nonsense of this type.

Absolutely not. There is fossil record of dinosaurs. Of coarse Christians believe in dinosaurs. How long ago they roamed the earth is contentious, but I know of no Christians who do not believe in dinosaurs.

I assume that you believe that humans, as we now know them as Homo sapiens or even their ancestors, inhabited with the Dinosaurs. Are you aware that radioisotope/carbon-dating proves this wrong? Aren't scientific evidence, and actual facts enough for you to realize that this is impossible?
If dinosaurs still exist then they are not "dinosaurs" they are descendants of such.
