We are in human bodies, limited by our senses and ability to comprehend. Think of a cat trying to do algebra- it is beyond their physical capability. So what makes any human think they could possible comprehend the Universe, God, or whatever you want to call it? While we are in these bodies they limit us a lot.

But,

That is the challenge that we must overcome. The human body is part of life for a reason. In this form we become ignorant, grounded, lost. Our challenge is to find the way back, to find Truth in a fog of ignorance. If that ain't worth Heave, The Other Side, God, etc. or the "prize" in itself, I dunno what is.

We have every right to try and comprehend the Universe. It is our right, by nature, as a higher thinking being. Just because it is difficult, doesn't mean it is unattainable.

If seeking is pointless, life is pointless. And, if we are unable to comprehend God, the Universe, and so on then our ability to think on a higher level is pointless.
Nothing is pointless, it all has a purpose. We may be limited and unable to see that purpose, but it shouldn't deter you from seeking regardless.

All the answers are out there, if we just dare to ask...

I wasn't aware that anyone was making that claim at the moment. However, I'm not sure I agree with your analogy; an understanding of mathematics is crucial to our comprehension of the universe. Carl Sagan once proposed an interesting hypothesis. All life is composed of matter created in the Big Bang and further refined in stellar events like supernovas and planetary formation. Evolution takes over the moment that life appears, the end being a creature which is capable of perceiving the cosmos with increasing degrees of clarity and understanding. In this sense, we are the *mind* of the universe, gazing at itself and asking the question: what *am* I ...?

Yes, we are indeed limited.

So, if we cannot comprehend everything, why do we assume some god must have done it? It makes much more sense to just say, I don't know...yet.

Because we cannot comprehend all, it makes much more sense to only believe what we can and do comprehend. Hence it is a good thing to always see the evidence first.

Who said they have all the knowledge in the universe? No one I know, religious or atheist or any points in between has ever claimed that. Atheists know there is an untold multitude of knowledge we will never have. That's why science will continue to study and learn about our universe.

I don't think anyone really believes that they know absolutely everything. We only know what is available to us and lets face it, all we have is what is right in front of us most of the time. I think we all have fantasies that we would like to believe and for what we can't really comprehend on our own, well.....that's where faith, love, and hope come in.

Indeed. Socrates puts it well in my opinion: The only true wisdom comes from knowing you know nothing, in comparison to all there is to know.
I see my knowledge as a single grain of sand in a desert that stretches beyond the horizon in all directions.

Anyone who claims to have knowledge of everything in the universe is quite delusional and probably arrogant.
