So, by your argument, any religion claiming to be the one true religion HAS to be wrong.

There goes most of the organised religions then.

Correct. Religion has and always has been largely based on culture. You are posting on a board of mostly Americans, so many close-minded people will spurt Christianity. Go to other areas in the world and you will likely get different answers every time depending on where you go.

Yes, but you assume a god with a single identity.

And as for the chaos of having millions of religions, what's wrong with chaos?

There's a story from the Principia Discordia that goes roughly as follows:
Malaclypse the Younger (Mal-2) once called out to Eris, saying that it pained him to see all the war and oppression that humans put on each other. Eris responded, asking, "What is wrong with that if this is what they want?" to which Mal-2 responded, "But nobody wants it! Everybody hates it!" To this, Eris responded, "Oh. Well, then stop."

Point being, humans fight and disagree, because as a species we want it. Maybe not on an individual level, but humanity is bloody and vicious.

I believe you're assuming that if there was one true faith, God would have made sure everyone knew about it.

Actually, God has and continues to give us truth through His prophets, but He allows confusion to exist to help us come to understand the difference between right and wrong. It's one thing to be told truth, but to really understand sometimes requires us to experience what happens when people make both good and bad choices.

You're assuming that if a religion were true then people would have the sense to follow it. You credit people with far more rationality than they possess. People usually 'decide' to follow a specific religion because their parents told them to. The truth of the religion is not a factor.

Humans are capable of ignorance. This can be ignorance because the truth is not available, for example Europeans did not know about South America until it was discovered, and we didn't know about Christ until he came to earth. The other kind of ignorance is willful, in that a person may refuse to learn that which is available for him to know. Thus there are still people who know nothing about South America although they could if they read about it. And there are people who know nothing about Christ for the very same reason.

Wrong. Just because something is right doesn't mean everyone would do it. Like share and be kind to others. I think most of us would say it's the right thing to do. It certainly doesn't mean everyone would do it. If we did, there would be no one hungry going to bed tonight. Same goes for faith. There is one true God and not everyone serves Him.

Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. Different names for the same One God. Krishna Consciousness is nonsectarian and Universal. It explains all paths and what is the highest path and best one for this age. Krishna says in Bhagavad Gita-"Whenever their is a decline in religious principles, and the truth appears to be lost, I appear again and again to reestablish the Truth." So God puts forth the Truth and Laws of Nature and man changes it for his own idea to control people and God has to come or send another representative again. and again and again. The question is which one is in tact. Which one is in Pure disciplic succession unchanged untainted by man. That would up to your sincerity of pure discernment to find it. Never stop until you are satisfied. go to harekrishnatemple.com Read Bhagavad Gita As it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada- the most recent messenger in a pure disciplic lineage (unbroken chain of disciple all the way from the appearance of Lord Krishna 5,000 years ago.)
