If you have been fortunate enough to go into the secluded great outdoors in an area where Beavers still exist, you might have seen an actual Beavers home. They are called a Lodge. So, generally speaking, a lodge is something that is in a secluded natural setting far from civilization, hopefully.
The design of a lodge is generally rustic and natural looking, mostly made of logs or rough cut lumbar and stone that is natural to the area.
A Resort on the other hand is a 100% "plastic" environment amidst a large population and isn't in a natural setting and not made to look rustic or natural but more likely glass, concrete, and modern architectural features. Noisy, night clubs, busy environment.

The spelling? What has this to do with "Dogs"?
