I've seen this question on here but no answers have helped thus far. The player has been working fine up until now and nothing has been changed. We've checked all the wires and they're fine. The only thing that's different is a CD was played on it earlier in the day, after that when a DVD was played the picture was visible but not the sound. Suggestions?

And please keep the terms simple, I don't know the names of all the cords.

If the CD & DVD playback settings are different, you may need to find the button or menu setting to switch the playback mode to DVD.

Also, you might try a full power down. Meaning, turn off the machine and perhaps even unplug it for a minute. Then plug it back in and power it up to see if it resets to default.

Otherwise, your machine might be dying on you. They don't last forever.

Bookworm and Robert have some good suggestions.

I would add, and this may be obvious but, if you run the audio through a receiver double check that the correct input is selected (DVD, CD, Video 1, etc)

Hi.The audio output settings in your player may have changed after playing a CD .Select either analog on or analog off and see if this fixes the problem.
