That is ignorance talking. He's been told that anyone that doesn't believe in god must be worshipping the devil. However, he doesn't know the meaning of "atheist" if that's what he insists in believing.
Atheists don't believe in god or satan or heaven or hell, so it would be hard to worship things that you don't believe exist.
We believe in science and mankind, though the latter often lets us down.

Yes .....you are right!
I am not an athiest I am a Wiccan....i believe in a Goddess but do not believe in satan.
Athiests do not believe in satan either. Because as you said in christianity you cant have one without the other, and athiesim is the same....Satan is a biblical story made up to keep all the little spoonfed christians in line....Athiests do not believe the bible was divinely inspired, therefor satan being a product of that book is also not believed in .....
Does that help?
Do a google search on www.evilbible.com and talk some sense into that friend of yours!

Atheists are a group of peope that believed that there is no God or god or any superior being.
Christian are people who being in God, the Father, God, the Son, and God the Holy Spirit is the one and only God.
Satanic are people who worshipped Satan.
There is a clear difference between the 3. Maybe you should get your brother to see his pastor to explain things to him. Each man is given the right to does things but they have to bear the fruits of their action.
Don force it on him. Let him has things his way.

Actually that doesn't make him a satanic. A satanic is willingly chosing and worshiping satan. BUT the problem is that when we are born we belong to this world which belongs (for a short time still) to satan, and God gives us a choice to chose Him or not. So those who chose God through Jesus are His, but everyone else will end up the same place satan will end up. in hell. It is not satanic, but it is anti-God so there it is. The choice is personal but the result will be the same: either you chose God or not, (satan, other religions, reincarnation, no god, what ever) and not means eternity away from God, light and truth!

Satanic means you believe in the Satanic Bible. Atheists don't. Which means Atheists aren't satanic.
What he may mean is that since they don't believe in God, they have fallen for Satan's lies.

You are correct, but I'll bet that your brother may mean that atheist who do not acknowledge God, therefore have no faith in Christ and are following satan's deceptions and lies and are lured away from the truth by satan, whether they realize this or not. Satan has come to rob, steal and destroy anyone that succumbs to his cunning deceptions. Just a thought.

Some very fundamentalist christians believe that if you are not a servant of god, then, by default, you must be a servant of satan.
So....according to that reasoning, all atheists, and likewise all other non-christians are servants of satan.
Of course, you are correct, that since atheists do not believe in god, or satan, it would be strange indeed to consider them satanic. However, they do consider us satanic.
Go figure.

To him, it might. To the deeply deluded (like him), sane people (like you) appear to be insane.
And your logic is off. It is not necessary to believe in satan in order to be legitimately labeled satanic by someone. The term "satanic" can just mean evil, cruel, or deceitful. If he means that we are deceived by satan, then your response does not contradict his point at all.
And even if he just thinks we are somehow products of satan, it would not necessarily mean that we believe in satan. It's kind of like someone claiming that Medusa had snakes for her hair. Does the fact that I don't believe in Medusa make the statement false?
The main point here is not to argue with the deluded about the finer points of their tangled web. Of course, he's completely wacko to believe in satan... and that's what you should be addressing.
I hope that helps.

It's the same old tactics... vilify those who are different. Of course it makes no sense logically, but religion inhibits logic, and that's just one of the ways it does that.
Hopefully you're smarter than your brother.
