Why do people post questions seeking an answer to match their answer and not the correct answer?

Question

I have been wondering why people ask questions seeking an "answer" however they are only seeking agreement because their minds are already made up however not taking any notice of the correct answer?

sometimes I see questions that are so off the wall on right here, yet different circumstances I see some relatively great questions. i could no longer think of somebody posting a extreme question like that and not desiring some informative suggestion! Puzzles me...i might have picked yours as best answer besides!

The difficulty may lie in the use of the word "correct". Much of "correct" depends upon your viewpoint, your background, your thought processes, your relationships, and your philosophy.

Then, too, quite a number of the questions asked may be simply rhetorical, asked because there is a thrill of seeing their own words posted, or it may be someone's not-very-inspired idea of "funny."

Truth, like beauty, is often in the mind of the beholder.

This is true a lot of the time, but sometimes they actually are correct and they are just seeing how many people still refuse to change their way of thinking.

They've been reading the bible too much...it's not an uncommon affliction....but it can be overcome by taking anthropology courses and or logic courses in college.....best of luck to you...
