its impossible.
its not healthy to lose more than 1-2lbs a week, if you are losing more then its not gona be permanent - you are losing only water weight and muscle and slowing down your metabolism.
body needs 50cal/hour just for basic functioning (like when you are in coma) and thats 1200cal/day - 1000cal is a highway to anorexia nervosa.
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Do not cut your calories to 1000 a day. 1200 is the minimum and if you are exercising, you should add a few extra calories in the form of protein.
You can safely lose weight only at the rate of 1-2 pounds a week, AT MOST. If you lose any more it will be muscle and/or water, and lower your metabolism making it even harder to loose weight (muscle burns calories).
Get a good sensible diet program and devote yourself to it. Be willing to take the slow road to arrive at your goal weight and still be healthy. There are no shortcuts.

First, 5 to 10 pounds is unrealistic. A healthy amount you should lose is about 2....maximum. Eat more than 1,000 calories. Make it around 1,500. Remember, the FDA recommends 2,000 a day just to stay at the weight you are at. Also, stick running 3 times a week for 30 minutes at a time in your workout. You should be losing those pounds in no time.
