Does anyone know, if I were planning on buying the 2008 lancer (the model I want is approx. 16,000 dollars) when it was a year old, about how much it would cost figuring in average miles put on it over that year?

Mitsubushi Lancer for only 16,000 dollars? must be the base cheep model that no one actually buys with manual windows and locks plastic wheel covers. When buying a new car, that you don't expect to pay all the way off, buy something that keeps it's value with features that will help you sell it? Maintence on the high dollar model might only be a couple cents more a mile. Figure 20 thousand miles at somewhere near 16 cents a mile thats 3,200 a year up keep (high side estimate). Then add full coverage insurance and car payment and interest paid on the car loan and gasoline $$$ you might as well get the car you really want.

usually, buying a bnew car would dpreciate its cost at around 20% for the next year. Thats the minimum. assuming that the condition is still the same.
