In the book of Job it is clear that God allowing Job to be tested in the first place and to make a wager with Satan is a sign of insecurtity. It must baffle the creator that since he gave us freewill he still can't be sure of our loyalty.

I feel like I am slipping again and more confused. Even among the Christians a concensus cannot be reached.

God does not need our loyalty, he longs for it. We were created as a being to receive and accept his love. God does not need us, we are here because he loves us. That makes me feel awesome, I am here because he wants and loves me THAT much. He tests us for our faith, not his assurance of our loyalty. God knows our heart, our true heart. We are not predestined, he just knows the choice we will make. The book of Job is a comforting and much needed book to some out there. In the end, Job's faith was stronger than any I could think of and the enemy knew he could take a life(not Job's since God said beforehand he could not), but he could never take a soul that belonged to God. This is a literal and symbolic story.

He doesn't need anyone's loyalty. But, he loves us and wants us to come to Jesus. God didn't even need to make us in the first place. He just loves us!

God does not "need" anything from mankind. Mankind needs Him. God loves each one of us and wants what is best for us. If we are loyal and obedient to Him, we will eventually obtain that which is best.
