I'm black and I'm a beautiful black women. I like dating white men, but my black friends tell me I shouldn't. Why is it ok for a black guy to date a white women, but not ok for a black women to date a white man? Am I wrong for wanting to date outside my race?

I see nothing wrong with that. It's your preference, and if we didn't have preferences, we'd fall for anyone. I could only see reason behind your friends getting mad if you refuse to even give a black guy a chance just because he's black. But besides that, there is no logic for your friends not liking who you date. If they're really your friends, they would accept your choices, even if they don't like them.

The truth is because some black men are self hating, and bash black women in this process. This is why many of us get mad. There's nothing wrong with it, just as long as you don't bash your own race. The truth is also they often do it for mixed kids with long hair and light skin, slave mindset. I love white men, but don't say, black men attitude, I hate black men and others. Black men get mad when we do it too. Some I mean, like it's o.k. for them not us, hypocrisy. Also 41.2 % of black women are unmarried, we feel like they're taking all of them, white women can GET ANY RACE BLACK WOMEN ARE LIMMITED, WATCH DARK GIRLS DOCUMENTARY OR LIGHT GIRLS, YOU UNDERSTAND. Counting gay black m, jail, it makes it even more slim. Nothing against it, but most of the time, they think it's a prize or award. I gave up, most of the men who liked me were white... in fact, more black men are saying that they only date white women, or rap songs bashing black women. This is sad our generation has gone down...

Of course it's not wrong for a black woman to date a white man. Both are beautiful human beings. Don't let other people's cultural taboos define your life and your love.

Hello,

I'm of Samoan>Chinese>German and Hawaiian descent and I married an Irish/Italian from Philly (I'm originally from Maui) and it was a little akward for his family because they're really strict Italians/Irish and only wanted him to marry within that race. I definitely felt like it shouldn't happen and we shouldn't get married but over a 2yrs. of being around his family and just letting them get to know me, they could see that color has no bounderies, no matter what race. I was human and I could feel things the same. Some members of my husbands family are straight from Ireland and they do not like people of different races... It bothered me alittle and made me uncomfortable but you know what? It doesn't matter what other people think, it's only between you and the guy you want to be with. I learned to accept myself because both my parents are of mixed descent and they taught me to be proud of who I am, it's a beautiful thing to be mixed! and not ashamed. I think you should do whatever your heart tells you too do, if they were really your friends they would support you not let you down.I now have a beautiful 1yr. old son and I could not be any more proud! Do what you know is right for you! Goodluck Sweetie!

There's nothing wrong with either combination, the only thing that is wrong are your friends and anyone else that says you should restrict yourself to only dating people of your race.

We r all the same on the inside! It's ur choice who and what skin color u date . Do what makes u happy and don't worry what others think. If they r really ur friends they should'nt care what skin color ur bf has they should just want u to b happy..
