Gods standard ,to see if you are a good person, is the 10 commandments. Have you keep all the commandments? Have you every lied, stolen, hated, look at someone in lust, not put God first. For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. (James 2:10) If God were going to judge you by this standared would you be innocent or guilty. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) Does this bother you that God does not see you as good? Or do you still think God sees you as good. Do you even think there is no God? Explain? Why not just belive that Jesus took your punishment on the cross and repent (which menas turn from) of you sins today. You might not have tomorrow? If you have any questions for me ask at http://www.needanewstart.com with a email or just start a blog entry.

We have to repent of our sins. There is no magic prayer that saves us. You can find that no where in the bible. you can not just pray one time and live like hell.

I believe I am saved by grace. This is a gift of God. Romans 6:23, Titus 3:5, and Eph 2 8-9. I will by no means think I can earn this gift of salvation. All I was saying if you are truely sorry for you sins you will repent and turn from your wicked ways. This does not mean we will not sin anymore. This means we will follow Jesus at any cost.

We are all born into a sinful world. We all have sinned and we all are guilty. Because of our sinful and evil nature, God requires death. Jesus satisfies that requirement when we choose Him as our Lord and Savior and repent.
I am a forgiven sinner. I am God's child. Because of Jesus' willfully giving up His life to sacrifice it for me and for my sin, I am now considered justified (just as if I'd never sinned). I try my best to live my life for Him so I have been sanctified. I am waiting to be glorified. God loves me just the way I am and He sees me as perfect, because I am His child. This is love.

No I don't think I am a good person. I believe in God. Yes, we have all fallen short from the glory of God. We have all sinned. I try being a good person according to God's word. He is life, hope, love, everything that matters in this world. Without him I don't see how people manage living their lives. God will always love all of us. I am thankful for that. Sometimes I feel lonely. However, when I think about God he reminds me I am not alone in walking this fight. Thank you God. My prayer is that the people of the U. S., especially, will open their eyes and see the truth. The media is playing with the minds of the people. Hence, many Americans are longing to have the lastest trend and do what people their age are doing (at least what some people think others are doing ) such as drinking, clubbing, smoking, etc. But all this is a lie. The companys want the money of the american people and are willing to go to the extreme. This is an illusion. Open your eyes people !!!!! Open !!!! Please.... God is the real reason we are living for , don't get it confused. God Bless

Everyone is a mix of good and bad. Everyone. Goodness isn't like virginity. One act to the contrary doesn't change a person from having it to losing it. If a generally good person does a bad thing, that does not make the person a bad person. On the balance I'd say I'm good, even though I do a number of things I know to be wrong. It's not an all or nothing deal. If it were then a person who devotes his life to charity and helping others who also happens to find his neighbor's wife sexually attractive would be a bad person just as much as a mass murderer. That's a juvenile, silly form of morality. Reality is much more complex and everyone should be evaluated as a whole, not just by whether or not they've ever thought of breaking a set of rules that everyone breaks (many of which actually SHOULD be broken.) But I can tell from the question I'm wasting my time.

The point is no one is a good person and we all are guilty of sinning and breaking the commandments. If the spaghetti Monster is real, we should all just live life as we please with selfish desires and without regard for others. If there are no eternal consequences for living a life unpleasing to God, what is the point? If I were an athiest I would not care who did or did not beleive in God, I sure would'nt waste any of my life trying to mess with people trying to spread the word.

I think I am a good person. I'm Catholic and I do believe in the 10 commandments and God/Jesus. Nobody's perfect. I have sinned before, of course. But I still think I am doing good. I forgive myself and ask for God's forgiveness. Even though I have lied or what not, I do positive things. I try to put others before me, I forgive those who offend me. I turn the other cheek. Like I said, no one is perfect and the only one that can judge is God. We shall await the time he comes. Until then, I try to do my best to keep God alive in my heart and present in my life as I try to be the best person I can be.

My salvation is based on God's grace and mercy to me.
It is nothing I have done, but what Jesus Christ accomplished on the cross, so that I can be free to be the person God created me to be.
Praise His Name

I can do better than that:
Matthew 19:17 - And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Mark 10:18 - And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
Luke 18:19 - And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.
1 Corinthians 6:12 - All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
See, Christ tells me that you are not good no matter how many commandments you think you obey.
Also, the commandment is not against lying, the commandment is against bearing false witness against your neighbor. Not the same thing since God refers to lying specifically in other Bible passages.
I am saved by Grace, not by works.
You do all the works you want. You bear all the false witness about the commandments you want. I suggest you put your faith in Christ and study scripture.

You must understand one small thing here before posing that question. A Good or Bad person (or infact any quality which someone attributes to a person) is purely RELATIVE TERM.
i.e., you might be a GOOD person to your mom but a BAD person to your enemy and so on.
We can thus conclude that the terms GOOD and BAD are relative terms and are not absolute. Since religious people believe that GOD is ABSOLUTE PRESENCE, HE definitely won't see us in a relative way. Which means that there is no GOOD, BAD, SIN etc., in terms of GOD about us.
If you say that GOD does sees GOOD, BAD etc., in people, then it means that HE is not absolute and HE is a relative term, which also means that a GOD is present to only who believes in HIM.
Now, see in which category you fall into.
Good Luck..

i have broken many commandments, and given up on god many times but i do believe in him and regret the things ive done b/c he hasnt ever given up on me! isnt it in our nature to sin though? we will never be good enough for god in our own eyes but, if we repent all is washed clean and we start anew.
