I am fifteen and I have the desire to become a bartender once I am legal. I do not have a job but I am interested in one. What should I look/apply for to make my way to a bartending position and what other things can I do as a minor to hone my skills?

What jobs should I look for to get in the food business as a teenager? What are good methods of finding a job and once I have a job, how can I expand my knowledge into becoming a bartender?

Find a bartending school in your area (most towns have a program) search yahoo for bar tending schools in your home town.... They are quick, cheap programs. Than get a job as a "bar back" or busboy and work your way up... I know a lot of people who wait tables at bar/ restaurants, then move up to bar tender.... use your great personality and when someone calls off work volunteer to bartend.... Make your self indispensable, that's how people move up. Good Luck!

That's gonna be a long, hard road. Try to get a degree in something... how about hotel & restaurant management? Just tend bar thru college for the experience.
