Well we were going to elope to Gatlinburg, TN... had everything paid for... including our ceremony at this beatiful little white chapel called Chapel at the Park... then decided to make it a private ceremony... and only invited our immediate family. There were 7 people there, including Marcus and I. It was perfect for us. We saved a ton of money and still had the beautiful ceremony. I highly suggest it for those who hate being the center of attention or just want something more personal. Our little white chapel in the mountains (with the snow falling!!!) was perfect for us... and our pictures are amazing!

I am not going to elope persay... well kinda but everyone will know and my mom and dad will be there. We are going to go to Vegas and have our wedding just the two of us and my parents because they are so awesome, that way we can have a fun wedding and an awesome honeymoon/vacation. So I say definitely go for the elope!! All that money spent on a wedding that last 30 minutes could be saved and used for a great getaway!!!

I haven't but we want to do a "planned elopement" overseas somewhere. Only our immediate family (parents and brothers) will be there. I don't like big weddings (I find them awkward and uncomfortable) and although I'm not shy, I don't like being the centre of attention. Having a "real" wedding would be a bad experience for both myself and my bf (who is actually quite shy).

Yes. My husband and I drove to a quaint little town in Michigan and applied for our marriage license. We talked to the judge that does the weddings and set up a time. A few weeks later we went back for the ceremony. We had two witnesses that were friends stand up with us. After wards we had a nice meal together with our friends and then drove home. He has since taken me on several honeymoon trips. It was our second marriage and a lot less stressful than my first!
Good luck!

We got married at the court house. That was all we could afford. Now I wish we had had a big wedding. A special day we could look back on. I'm thinking for our 25th we may do a big confirming of vows.

No, we had a traditional church wedding and reception for about 200. Could not even fathom the idea of not getting married and celebrating with family and friends!

Yes! I am not into the whole wedding silliness. Me, my husband and the JP...it was all about us. Not to mention - we only spent $80 and have been married almost 18 years.

Yes. We went to Las Vegas. We didn't have the whole Elvis thing. (lol) No, we had a quiet ceremony in the JP's office.
