Exercise, avoid sodas , sugary foods , choose yogurt instead of ice cream , drink a lot of water .If you eat out choose hamburger without mayo&cheese or grilled chicken sandwich or grilled chicken salad (careful with the dressing-use only half of the package). If you really love fries , choose the smallest portion and reward yourself once in a while. At school or when you go out , make sure you have fruits packed in a bag or cooler , especially apples . The fiber from apples make you feel full and provide vitamins . No cookies, no candies or cakes or junk bars , but if you really like , reward yourself once or twice a week with something you like .

i have followed this for a couple of years now and its become just the way i eat - to lose weight you have to understand that temporary diet changes lead to temporary weight changes - diet is a way of life so pick one you can stick to forever.
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

A huge part of losing weight is about portion control. Why do you think Jenny Craig makes such a profit saying "Yes, you can have your cake and eat it, too!"? It's because you can have that cake, but it's a hell of a lot smaller.
Exercise, get active, and be focused.

The best thing for me was to develop a positive attitude toward food. I value foods for the nutrients they give me. When you get a lot of nutrients, your body uses energy better. Foods that increase circulation cause your body to use more energy. One such food is green tea.
I get a green tea called "gynostemma" at a Chinese store. Gynostemma helps the liver. A healthy liver sends sugar and carbs to muscles to be used as energy. Work stress and air pollution cause unhealthy livers to convert sugar into substances that are stored as fat. http://www.healthcareherb.com/gynostemma.html
Rosemary and ginger stiumlate circulation. Basil stabilizes blood sugar levels. http://www.ezycook.com/culinary_herbs_spices.html
Blue-green algae, wheatgrass and barley grass increase metabolism and raise energy. Kelp can improve thyroid function, which prevents weight gain due to thyroid issues. Women commonly have these because they can be hormone-related. These greens can be bought in a powder at a health food store.
Cayenne pepper and mustard increase metabolism. Cinnamon, bay leaf and cloves control blood sugar. Herbs such as kola nut, ginseng, astralgulus and licorice root can help you lose weight.

On this page, I just scan for the positive stuff! What we think about is what leads to our actions, so I think positive when possible to motivate positive actions.
I have heard rice improves the speed of hand-to-eye coordination. So, my guess is that it improves circulation. It eat brown rice cakes. This is quick and easy.
I tried Atkins several years ago. It was an unbalanced diet that resulted in severe digestive problems and other undesirable female health problems.
Eating lots of fruits and vegetables prevents a lot of diseases that are often associated with extra weight. It also greatly improves general health. Health gives people that vibrant glow that other people find attractive. Here is an article on the value of eating a variety of fruits and vegetables: http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/Printer%20Friendly/Fruits%20and%20Vegetables.pdf
Meats also provide important vitamins. Vitamin B12, for example, is found in no plant sources. So, eating at least some meat is important. I think it's healthy to eat mostly fruits and vegetables and be sure to also get seeds, nuts, whole grains, legumes and at least some meat. http://health.howstuffworks.com/vitamin-b1.htm
I have heard vitamin B6 helps metabolize fat. Here are foods high in B6: http://www.whfoods.org/genpage.php?tname=nutrient&dbid=108
Here's a list of foods that provide various vitamins to ensure your body is getting everything it needs to function optimally: http://www.kidshealth.org/teen/misc/vitamin_chart.html
Of course, exercise and relaxation improve circulation. I learned the yoga "Sun Salutation." A friend noticed how toned I looked. He asked if I ran. "No," I replied, "I just do 10 minutes of yoga everyday!" Then, I started running and I found I was much better at it. I do the salutation as it is described here: http://www.holisticonline.com/Yoga/hol_yoga_pos_sunsal.htm
Images which give a clearer overview are here: http://www.yogasite.com/sunsalute.htm
I also went to acupuncture. This increased my circulation, energy and feeling of peaceful relaxation immensely. It was only $40 and all I had to do was lay there. The effects are lasting. The doctor I chose was very experienced. She had been the head of Traditional Chinese Medicine at a hospital in China.
I've heard it's best to get vitamins from foods. This requires eating a large variety of foods, including lots of fruits and vegetables! A variety also helps keep the body functioning in a balanced way. I don't think about calories; I just think about getting lots of nutrients. The key is to keep working different foods and herbs in. Now that I try to eat a lot of these foods, I prepare a lot of food to eat, but I often get too full to finish! And, I don't gain weight!
OK, I've tried to be positive, but I have to admit, I don't eat sugar, flour or oils that have trans fats. Healthy oils are pressed. These include extra virgin olive oil, sesame oil and expeller-pressed oils. Now there are even potato chips that are baked with expeller-pressed oils. Pressing is a way to get the oil out naturally. Other oils are extracted through an unnatural process, so our body doesn't know how to process them well. As for avoiding flour, some health stores sell breads made from sprouted grains. They're more expensive but worth it because being healthy saves on expenses like medicine, time off work and major problems down the road.
