should I be worried. Or is this juat a phase she is going through. Her brother 4yrs younger just now potty trained still wets the bed could this have something to do with it. She could be watching tv and just go in her pants, she says she doesn't feel when she goes on herself. She feels the wetness after she has wet herself. Am I over reacting or is this a serious problem?

She has a very strong bladder, she doesn't wet the bed at night. Just when she is watching tv or doing something. It has never happend in the public just at home.

As she is only wetting her pants while at home, not while she is in public or at school, it does sound like she has good bladder control. It could be attention seeking or it could simply be that she does not want to stop what she is doing to use the toilet - she might not want to miss part of the programe while she goes to the bathroom. Try making a rule that if she goes in her pants while watching TV then she must miss the rest of the programme - she will then realize that this is worse than just missing a couple of minutes while going to the bathroom.

Overall, I don't think this is a big problem so try not to make too big an issue of it.

I am loathe to confess this, but I had that problem when I was younger. Sometimes I would really just not feel it. Turns out I had chronic UTIs and had some scarring of the bladder. Take her to the doctor and make sure she doesn't have a UTI. Talk with her or take her to someone else (it is sometimes easier for someone else to get info out of a kid than for mom to get it) and see if she has any stresses etc that are causing her some emotional trauma. Wetting oneself has been listed as a symptom of everything from a UTI, to puberty to sexual abuse. It is kindof a generic symptom. Maybe buy her some feminine pads to wear when she is at home, "just in case". Good luck.

This sounds like straight out attention seeking to me. She does not wet the bed at night, she does not wet herself during the day [at school] and she does not wet herself whilst out of your home. This is deliberate and wilful. I suggest you start looking for the underlying reason for this sudden bad behaviour. Hopefully it is nothing too serious. Good luck!

I would check with the dr first but I'd bet nothing is physically wrong. If she doesn't wet at night or in public, and only when she is doing something, it just sounds like she is really involved in the activity and doesn't pay attention to the signals her body gives her. I would probably just try sending her to the bathroom more frequently and see if that helps.

If she goes to the bathroom a lot....more than 5 times a day, it very well could be a bladder infection! Good luck!

Going to the Doctors is #1. I would also check with your daughter to see if everything is ok with her, emotionally. When my daughter was 7, my husband and I were going through some tough times, and she started wetting her pants. Once my husband and I resolved our issues, her wetting problems went away....Maybe something is going home at home or school?

Take her to the doctors, and rule out the medical problems first. As she appears to do this only at home, look around to see if there is negative stimuli to cause this problem. Also check with teachers at school to see if there is any anxiety problems occurring there. Once the medical is ruled out, and if there is no problems at home, and no problems at school, it would be next to think it is an "attention-getter", and don't hesitate to respond accordingly. Good Luck

Might be urinary incontinence (where she can't control her bladder) I guess it's kinda like when some people laugh, they pee on themselves. Might be similar to that kind of thing. I think it can be resolved easily. Her pediatrition will know what to do...

Good luck!
