You can get that weight off you when you eat the right kind of food like fruits and vegetables. Avoid eating junk foods and drinking soft drinks (they're bad for you). You need to exercise more.

Losing weight really is pretty simple. First of all you need to NOT diet. Eat sensibly. Take you body weight, and multiply that by ten, that will give you how many calories you can have a day (for instance I'm 215, so I can eat 2150 calories a day). Switch over to healthy foods. No soda, no white bread. You would be surprised the amount of delicious and healthy foods there are. Do not skimp on any part of you diet. You need carbs, you need protein, you need fat. Just eat the right kinds (whole wheat breads and pasta's, lean meats, olive oil and fish for your fats).

Next, exsersize. Both aerobic and weight lifting. Weight lifting will tone you, and help you burn calories more efficiently, aerobic will actively burn off the calories.

If you excersize 45-60 min a day, and eat right, you can easily lose weight (by easily I mean, it is basically a sure thing, but it still takes lots of work). And better yet, you will KEEP the weight off. If you lose weight on a diet you usually burn off muscle and end up getting back the old weight plus some. Burn it off the right way and it will stay off, plus you will feel better.

Try to start excersising....beginning tomorrow. If not everyday, you should at least excersise every other day....in the morning is best as it burns more calories in the AM. Whatever you choose to do, say walking, continue for 30 days or a month and then...do something else the next month (like riding a bicycle). Changing your routine every 30 days will give you the most benefit and help you be happier with the results sooner. Try to stay away from as much sugar as possible; no soft drinks. Water is good. Eating 3 sensible meals a day is important; if you skip a meal...your body stores extra fat to make up for it! Godspeed and good luck to you.

find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
