I had a SC1 and it was a pretty good car. Got good mileage. It burned a little oil at the end and went through front brakes like crazy. Never had any other problems other than it was small.
Cavaliers are a good choice. Cheap and they will run forever without problems. More power than the Saturn but slightly lower mileage.
Hondas are way over priced. Since you are looking at 7 year old cars Im guessing you dont have money to throw away so I would avoid them.

From what I have seen, most SC1s with 60-100 thousand miles have more issues than most cars... try looking for a Civic, Sentra, or Cavalier Z24.
The Z24 may or may not have issues depending on the previous owner.. I have a z24 with 80,000 miles and no problems yet at all.. Sentras are good cars,... good on cas and there are some nice aftermarket parts for it.. The civics are a dime a dozen and slightly overpriced in my opinion. Saturn parts are expensive and sometimes not in stock.. just making the bill higher..

Just about any Nissan would be a better choice. 7 year old Saturn might be needing some work by now.
