Would it be bad to cruise at 4,000 RPM in 5th Gear on a 1992 Nissan Pathfinder for an extended time? (about 2 1/2 hrs.)

i think thats a little high get the idle reset by the dealer

If you don't get caught by the police 4,000 rpms in fifth must be over 90 miles an hour. Just make sure your tires are brand new not repaired and old worn. Shocks in good shape?

It's a little high, but so long as you don't red line it. I would shoot for a round 55mphr, or some where between 2500-3000rpm

yes, you'll overheat and burn your transmission
