Puppy, it's a damn good painting. Very impressive.
I don't see this as creepy, really. I suppose how one sees it depends on where one's head is at the time. I see the ropes of bondage but I don't see the man as real. I see him as the ghost image of someone who has been freed, in one way or another, from bondage. All that is left is the shell. Wherever the man is I see him as now free. Through death or through transformation.
Interesting thing about humans is that we are more likely to 'imprison' ourselves (through personal sorrow or guilt or doubt) than be imprisoned by others.

Wow. It's very creepy, but I like it. Your use of color in the background and foreground is captivating. It's definitely a painting that would make someone take a second look and think about it for a while. Your use of light along the vertical bar and beams is especially haunting. The painting just makes me want to know more about what meanings lie behind this scene. You're a good artist.

My husband found it a bit kooky, but as someone who LOVES art and history, I can appreciate the beauty of it. I especially like the glow you have depicted around your central character, and am curious as to the meaning of the writing on the wall. You have great talent.

At first sight, no I did not like it! After reading the name of the painting and looking closely at it the whole pic, yes, I do like it.

Well, I find it a little creepy.. which is probably one of the effects its supposed to have.. very good job conveying the image.. wouldn't hang it in my house, but you have great skill.. I like it =]

Interesting, I like it especially... I wish I had swwn it as a child if I would have seen it when i was younger because ...."don't laugh" I saw a ghost ..........can U tie on up?? ! Very nice work, oil??
