I didn't think it was that bad. The spoofs sucked though. No good performances. Some good jokes though.

This question and its answers are pretty dated now, but the original question still inspired me to write because I do hate the MTV movie awards just as much as I hate The People's Choice awards. Its not the fact that MTV can pick their own winners and offer their own awards based on who they like or that they air it on television and promote the hell out of it... its HOW they air it on television. I mean if only the category WINNERS are going to be invited to the show (which means they are notified in advance they won), then for god's sake don't show them in the audience before each award is announced. It takes ALL the mystery out of the awards.... Oh look J-Lo is nominated and oh look the camera showed J-Lo cuz none of the other nominees are there... so obviously J-Lo wins....(Shocker). And so on and so on for each category. Don't make it like its a big mystery, just say here's the MTV Movie Award winners (and we'll tell you who the other nominees were in case you were interested). Sadly People's Choice does the same thing. I couldn't stomach it and turned it off after 20 minutes (all you have to do is watch the Red Carpet and see who attended to know who's going to win..... SOOOO LAME!!!!!) Oscars approach is so much better (too bad the people picking those movies are super old white guys with no taste of what America likes anymore either...but that's another rant for another day....Birdman, seriously... ugh!!)

The only part that made me laugh was the loose the f*ckin tail line. Will Ferrel and Borat kissing made me gag. You think a professional comedian would do a better job hosting, but then again Dane Cook is considered a professional so that doesn't say much. I was disappointed that the show didn't push the envelope like they were supposed to. Pushing it too far is the only way Silverman is ever funny.

Yes. They were terrible and Silverman is NOT funny! Sorry! I got bored and turned to "The Sopranos"-which was great tonight! MTV is a sellout and sucks-they blacklisted Janet Jackson, stopped playing music videos all day, and do nothing but show bad award shows and reality shows!

i agree - performances were bad & they needed some rock in there. the spoofs weren't even funny to me at all & the host embarrassed me with that whole paris thing when she was right there. just a bad show and it seemed really short to me

im 13, but i really think that the mtv movie awards were really dirty like in every scene someone HAD to to talk about, you know what i mean, to get peoples attention and i felt embarrassed to watch b/c my mom was there too. im just saying they should lower the profanity in it while other kids like me are watching.
