well shucks, if you already know the answer it hardly seems like I should bother answering.
Christians believe in a god, atheists don't.
That's the main difference. Beyond that, I can't say that many years of knowing both has led me to conclude that there's some other universal difference.
Here are some common mistakes some people make:
-Some Christians would say that atheists are immoral or amoral, this isn't true. Atheists are, on average, at least as average as your average Christian.
- Some atheists would say that atheists are rational, christians aren't. you could substitute educated or intelligent or anything similar. This isn't really true. There are plenty of atheists who happen to be atheists but who rely less on reason than emotion. There are many highly rational christians. While on average atheists are somewhat more educated, it isn't a fundamental underlying element and there are plenty of highly educated Christians and plumb ignorant atheists.
Any answer involving empathy, rationality, etc. isn't a fundamental difference between atheists and christians. For every example that can be given one way, I can think of ten that work the other way. The only fundamental difference is belief in the christian god.

Atheism, defined as a philosophical view, is the position that either affirms the nonexistence of gods[1] or rejects theism. A Christian is a person who adheres to Christianity, a monotheistic[1] religion centered on the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth as presented in the New Testament.[2] Most Christians believe Jesus to be the Son of God and the Messiah prophesied in the Old Testament.

Atheist require hard fact before they will believe something. After investigating the facts I came to the conclusion that lots of things in the bible are impossible, thus I can not believe anything from it.
Christians on the other hand (generally) use religion to explain things they can not.
I don't know how the world was created, but I'm not going to resort to super-natural beings and events in an attempt to explain it.

The basics first- Christians do believe in god. Atheists do not.
Here is a good little bit of info...
—Synonyms Atheist, agnostic, infidel, skeptic refer to persons not inclined toward religious belief or a particular form of religious belief. An atheist is one who denies the existence of a deity or of divine beings. An agnostic is one who believes it impossible to know anything about God or about the creation of the universe and refrains from commitment to any religious doctrine. Infidel means an unbeliever, especially a nonbeliever in Islam or Christianity. A skeptic doubts and is critical of all accepted doctrines and creeds.

An atheist is one who denies the existence of a deity or of divine beings, where a Christian (or Muslim, etc.) believes in the existance of such beings. This is the underlying element that seperates the two. That , and the athiest will have the "Darwin" fish decal on their car, and the Christian will have the "Jesus" fish on theirs.

I'd like to touch on one difference. I think Christians are more fearful than atheists. They have a loving Savior who will look after them here on earth and, if they obey His/Her laws, will be waiting for them with open arms in heaven (Paradise?) when they leave this life. Was this scenario invented by an animal that knows he's going to die and is horrified by the thought of oblivion? Could be. I straddle the fence of wanting to believe there is something more after we die and the scary, more likely, possibility that this is it, there is no more. I don't want to side with the atheists (guilt by association) but I do think they are more courageous (in general) than Christians.

An hypothesis is a proposition, used as a proof for an prevalence of a few phenomena, that's customary as relatively in all risk in the gentle of commonplace info. there is not any such factor as an atheist concept "gadget". Atheists have no "hypothesis" for his or her disbelief. Atheists don't have a thought. The observe atheist potential purely somebody who does not have faith in any God. Hypostasis is a metaphysical/philosophical/non secular point of view which presumes there is a few invisible underpinning framework or shape upon which actual certainty is geared up, and that's non secular in nature. we don't have or want a hypothesis to disbelieve. some atheists element out that there is not any info upon which to base a concept, however the assumption of hypostasis isn't a element of rivalry. the reality that there is not any info of a God or an invisible underlying shape to certainty isn't disputed by using maximum believers, they matter on -faith- quite than info. For atheists that loss of info is a situation because of the fact we don't have self assurance or settle for claims made without helping info. We many times settle for technology as valid because of the fact technology is supported by using info. The info for any claims by using technology might desire to by using definition might desire to be testable or falsifiable. faith gives you no info or attempt to help their declare.

Christians are fools, while Atheist are logicians.
To be a Christians one needs to stop asking tough logical question and just believe in a book. Actually to even believe in one mans claims itself is stupid. As you may or may not know, there is no single reference of jesus or of his magic by any of the contemporary writers. That should be an interesting muse for many blind christian fools in this forum
BTW, non believing in god does not make one a perfect Atheist. The basic difference is when Christians explains things he needs to shut his logic and turn on his faith while Atheist start of their reasoning by denying god and then explain things with logic and reasoning.
christian Fools learn to think first

Are we so different??
Other than that one believe in God and the other doesn't, Not much. Each believe they are right, and each wants the other to believe as they do.
It is not that difficult to understand. Each wants to be happy, live, love and have a happy life. Wake up in the morning, have a nice cup of coffee, go to work, make a good living, come home, relax, and if they are lucky have a nice weekend.
different! not much if you really look at it. Not much.
