I was opening a box of toothpicks when I lost my grip and they spilled to the floor. One toothpick landed on a chair. Is that a miracle? What are the odds of one landing on a chair? If that's a miracle then, I suppose, the lone survivor in a plane crash is a miracle. Personally, I think he was just lucky.

How is survival of any accident a miracle? What if there were 2 survivors?

Thats not a miracle and your conclusion is irrelevant. If there was a possibility of someone surviving and it happened then it was still possible and they got lucky because they were in the right place at the right time.

It is a miracle and God has plans for this person who survived.

All the survivor can say is that he doesn't know why only he survived and no one else. God will reveal it to him in due course. Either his faith and prayer saved him or God has a plan for him and God is not finished with him.

Noone understands completely why tragedies happen. I certainly can't understand for what purpose my life was spared. But I know the Lord loved those that lost their lives. And they, as well, had a purpose. Maybe they fulfilled their purpose and the Lord saw fit to take them from our presence.

He was a very lucky passenger. How could he say divine intervention saved him but killed everyone else? That's very insensitive to the victims' families.
