Brush your tongue and use a tongue scraper. I use one w/a brush on one end and a scraper on another. Use a little toothpaste. Instead of brushing just up and down, go gently in a few directions. Brush gently also the cheeks. Be careful of using mouthwash w/too much alcohol. For some ppl, it dries out their mouth and causes bad breath. Or it could be dry mouth. Use a toothpaste or mouthwash like Biotene. It helps a lot. Or ask your dentist. It could be gum disease causing the smell. Or medication. Drink plently of water throughout the day. Swish a few times. Chew sugarless gum. Brush after meals. Good luck!

If it is not a dental problem then it could be coming from your stomach. Have you had any indigetion type pains or alot of burping? Acid reflux can give very bad breath. How long has it been since your last dental cleaning and check-up for cavities. When you brush your teeth and floss I hope you also brush your tongue. Do you eat alot of garlic and/or onions? They leave a lingering bad breath but chewing fresh parsley helps to eliminate it.

There could be several causes of bad breath not related to dental care.
Here are some that spring to mind. Infection of the throat, tonsillitis, stomach ulcer, stomach infection, sinus infection, food allergies , garlic and other strong smelling spices, and general ill health. There also could be pockets formed in the back of your throat by a previous bout of tonsillitis which catches food particles and when they go off they smell too.
If the smell is strong, and your dental care is good, go to the doctor to rule out the other conditions, and alter your diet, if that could be a factor.

Try brushing your tongue. My dentist told me that a lot of bacteria settles on the tongue and causes bad breath.

Sometimes mouthcare products with alcohol can actually make your breath stink. Such as listerine, use it, but then rinse your mouth with water. Same with lots of harsh whitening toothpastes.

bad breath also comes from your stomach, intestines and colon. You may need a colon cleanse. You can tell if what you eat scents also comes out in your sweat. It means you have built up waste in your system. Most people who do a colon cleanse can loose 10 pounds alone in just pasting blockage and rotten waste. The smell comes from the rotten waste.
