I'm flying from the US to the Netherlands. Would this be a problem? I don't know if this question has been asked, but I don't have the time (or patience) to check.

find the time to check. and the patience too. i just went through this with my good friend, as we are planning a trip overseas and she did the same exact thing. sorta. she got her visa and passport in her maiden name, and the ticket in her maiden-married name. sorta the same thing but not quite.

any way, it would be worth checking out before you make any more plans.

she was told there would definately be problems going through customs. i dont know about the netherlands, but if you don't have the time or the patience to contact the airlines or the embassies, then you should consider not going any where.

You Shouldnt Have Any Problems With Your Check In, Its More Important To Have Your Christian Name And Surname On Your Tickets, But If You Want To Check With Your Airline To Put Your Mind At Rest

Absolutely not. I have the same thing on my passport and have been in over 20 countries in the last year. From Egypt to Vietnam, Australia, Indonesia etc. The question never even comes up. In many of the Asian country's first and last names are switched around and I have found many times that I am called "Mr. Philip" when my name is Philip Randall Slocum" I've been called Mr. Randall and various other strange combinations. Don't sweat the small stuff. You will have a great time.;

Your e-ticket doesn't have to have your middle name. However your passport should have your FULL legal name. The only time you have to change the name in your passport is if you legally change your name (though marriage or a court order.)

No the middle name is not important for passport or tickets. Once the first and family names are spelt correctly and identically on both documents you are fine.

No. As long as your first and last name match on your ticket and passport, you will be allowed to board the plane.

from what i have heard, they allow you some flexibility on the middle name - the first and last names have to match exactly
