Oh man grounding my system was a pain in the butt, I eventually bought a long same thickness as earth guage wire and run it straight to the negative terminal on the battery ... no messing around with sand paper and stuff.

Works great!

Look for a place on the side of the trunk, pull back the carpeting.

Rules for grounding.
1. Never use an existing bolt. Do use as large as possible conducting sheet metal screw.
2. Always clean the paint off the area to be grounded with a wire brush.
3. Always use as short a lead as possible.
4. Always use as large a gauge wire or larger than your power line.
5. When using distribution blocks or in general whenever connections are made make sure never to shave off the wire.
-Always solder tin the ends.
6. Most importantly make sure there is no load in the system while your doing any of this.

You should NEVER ground speaker wires!

Ground the amp to a clean, bare metal surface using a nut and bolt. Use a locknut to ensure it doesn't vibrate loose.

Use the same size ground wire as the power wire. Keep it as short as possible.

Have Fun!

find a spot on the metal frame as close to the amp as possible. ive drilled into the flooring of the trunk (just dont hit the gas tank). on the side of the wheel well. etc. just somewhere you can get a good metal to metal contact with a spot that is attatched to the frame

It does not matter where you goround it as long as it is a clean, bare metal spot and it is firmly attached. Keeping the ground wire less than 3' will reduce the possibility for noise.

Every time i step out of a General Motors vehicle, my finger gets shocked when they touch a door. So for your GM car, the answer is, ground it to the roof of the inner trunk.
