He ( Gibson my Aussie Shepard) has been itching and I gave him some bacon to help with the dry skin. Not sure if that will help though. He is also weezing badly. How can I help him get through the season comfortably?

There is actually a liquid called hot spots that works well. You can talk to your vet for allergie meds otherwise.

Talk to the vet, a special diet (not bacon) may help, along with prescription shampoo for skin and maybe even a steroid for wheezing. A dog with serious allergies like that needs special veterinary attention.

The bacon will most likely cause diarrhea and is a poor fat for the skin. He needs fatty acids, which are fish oils. They come in capsules. Also, dogs don't wheeze with allergies--I'd have his breathing checked out for other problems.

We went to our vet when our dog got a hotspot on her paw. It was actually an infection so we gave her antibiotics and put an e-collar on her for a week (really sucked) so she couldn't lick at it.

I would call your vet.
