on our face, lower back, shoulders, and arms. And they aren't just
the sunburn kinda pink, they are RED.

Our faces REALLY sting, and they won't stop, it well, burns.
We don't have aloe vera in my house, so. it is burning!
is there any way we can make the burning stop, but without
lotion with aloe vera??? We also live in the desert, so it wouldn't be a prob. to go get some. what do they look like,
and is there some household item that you can you can use
on a bad sunburn, and make it go away????

There is a couple of aloe vera lotions that have solarcaine in the gel. It really helps with the pain. You can get it just about anywhere.

Look..one more time. Why would you put an acid on your burn? Vinegar is acetic acid..it feels cool but it does not help the burn. Alcohol evaporates which makes the burn feel cool, but it does not fix the problem. You need to get the heat out of the burn and the only reliable and safe way to do so at home is through using water. NOT HOT! It has to be cool, not frozen (so ice is out.. it cools too fast and can cause tissue damage) Fill your tub with cool water and get yourself into the water. At least 15 mins in and then 15 mins out...keep doing that until the burning sensation is gone. ONLY then should you consider using ANY lotion. The actual Aloe plant is a good treatment but NOT WHEN IT HAS Vera. Aloe Vera is a commercially made product of perfumes and other soap like material to make it smell pretty...with the Vera, the aloe loses it's healing capability (at least it's diluted too far to use for sunburns)

Solar caine and those types...read the label...'for MINOR sunburn etc'. The spray actually seals the heat in by covering the area. The cooling effect comes from the evaporating alcohol and other ingredients.

There is an old saying that vinagar helps get rid of a sunburn sting. It doesn't smell that great...but it does help with the burn. If you have a moisturizing lotion (no scent would be great) put it in the fridge and let it get really cold and then apply it to the areas that burn. Aloe vera is really the best to help soothe the burn though...and I would recommend putting that in the fridge to get cold as well. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Nevea Makes an after sun lotion that really works and sooths the skin wonderfully. I have used it many times and it works well. It does sound like you are going to "peel off" This can get pretty ugly and I have found a trick that speeds the process. There is a product that you can get in most drug stores that is called Pretty Feet It is a mild abrasive that is used to remove dead skin and soften the skin as well. This well help remove the ugly blotching and partially peeled areas of your sun burn. Keep using as much moisturizer as possible it will help and sooth at the same time.

I used to by this off the shelf but you may have to get it behind the Pharmacy counter and it is called Foiles Ointment. It was the best for treating sunburn. Vinegar does work too. You may want to create a bath with it or apply directly.

try putting vinegar in the refrigerator for a little while, then put it on a wash cloth and dab it on your sun burns. it won't take away the color, but it takes away the sting.
