I am simply a follower of Christ.
I am not a charismatic, I don't babble in tongues or let some strange pastor shove me over....
I believe that God will make all things new, including the stars, and the planets....a new heavens and a new earth, but I am not a JW...
I believe that Jesus may very well have visited other places after His resurrection, but I am not a Mormon...
I believe God created everything that exists, but I am not a Creationist....
I'm not a Baptist or a Lutheran or a Catholic...
I don't mind associating with these people, though...
Hmmm....
....
I'm checking, but I just can't find my label.
...
I guess I don't have one......

It depends on what you mean by "not associate". I am non-denominational, but we are not affiliated with Lutheran, Methodist, and Catholic. However, we do acknowledge and "fellowship" with other Christians. We are not seperating ourselves from other Christians, but we recognize that our pastors are people who are called by God to a special service in the Lord, not necessarily connected to mainstream denominations.

A "Christian"
Part of being a Christian is to associate with other Christians regardless of denomination. Also Scripture commands us to associate with non Christians in order to bring them the good news of the Gospel.

Hmmm.... sounds like me!
I consider myself to be a non-denominal Christian.
However, even "non-denominal" is starting to be coming a denomination!
So recently, I've nearly abandoned the word "Christian" altogether -- because people hardly know what that word means anymore!
These days, I just tell people that I'm "a follower of Christ".
Anyway, I hope this helps. I blog a lot about spiritual things, so if you're interested in the topic you can check out my site at http://www.James-Gilchrist.com :O)

The name used most widely today for the followers of Christ is "Christian". Before they were called Christians they were called Disciples.
"Ac 11:26 and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.". They were not called Catholics, Lutherans, Baptists, etc.... They where called disciples plain and simple. Catholics were formed between 314 to 324 AD by the roman emperor Constantine I. The Lutherans formed by Martin Luther during the Reformation movement in 1517. The Baptists started around 1693 in America. These groups along with Non Denominational affiliations which formed in America around 1891 take the meaning of following Jesus away from it's true root. Jesus prayed a prayer in John 17:20-23 for his Disciples and us.
"Jn 17:20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message,
Jn 17:21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
Jn 17:22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one:
Jn 17:23 I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me".
We all need to examine and get back to the Bible as the authority in our relationship with our Savior. If you read your Bible and put into practice that is a follower of Jesus. I personaly searched for many years to define what a follower of Jesus because I could not find someone who practiced Biblical principles. I spoke with many Pastors, Ministors, Bishops, Priests, and Evangilists. Many holes existed in there doctrine according to the Bible. We need to understand that they are only men and therefore imperfect, just as we are. And mistakes have been made with good intentions. There is a saying " The road to hell is paved with good intentions". We can not be influenced in our conviction by men. Bereans where commended in the Bilbe as men of noble charactor.
"Ac 17:11 Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true".
The New Testament was not even written yet so Paul must of used the old Testament. Look into your Bible and find out what it takes to follow Jesus. It's not easy and the road is very narrow. Jesus said
"Lk 13:22 Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem.
Lk 13:23 Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?” He said to them, Lk 13:24 “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to".
I hope this helps in you definition of Non Denomination. They is only one church and finding it is a major undertaking. Many believe they have found the one true church, but I challenge everyone to find it through the Bible because this is what we will be judged by when we stand before God to give an account of our lives. One a final note if I offended anyone Jesus offended many when he spoke the truth.
"Jn 6:60 On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?”
Jn 6:61 Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to them, “Does this offend you?
Jn 6:62 What if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before!
Jn 6:63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.
Jn 6:64 Yet there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray him.
Jn 6:65 He went on to say, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled him.”
Jn 6:66 From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.
Jn 6:67 “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve".
If you hear what is being said and continue to dig for the truth a church name is realy a mute point.

the christian faith is not experienced by secluding yourself from other believers, it is a communal experience. furthermore, the only purpose for you not practicing your faith with other believers is if you have no appreciation for their doctrine, which means you have invented your own. you should benefit from other christians as they should benefit from you. do you believe you have no valuable input? have you no experiences that someone can learn from? rethink your distancing from other believers, it is destructive.
