I got my ex's state tax intercept for child support arrears. When can I expect the federal refund?

I just got my ex's state tax refund ($360) because he owed $2200 in back child support. When can I expect the federal refund? Will the federal refund amount likely be enough to pay off what he owes?

2. My guess is no but it all depends on how much his federal refund is.

It could be awhile yet, maybe a couple months, before you get the federal. The amount you get will depend on how big of a refund he had coming, but could be up to the amount he owes you if he had that much coming.
