People who believe can get so easily riled up by us Atheists, why would they care?

Why do they not truly follow their god's ways if they believe him to be real? If I knew for a fact god was real I'd do everything in my power not to concern myself with this world, knowing full real my real home is in Heaven.

So why don't we see more godly people who believe?

because they have this little voice in the back of their heads called reason. and they doubt their faith, even the most devout ones. they all doubt it a little. to try and silence this voice they push god on everyone. its a defense mechanism, they feel so guilty for questioning and doubting that they try to be overly religious. this is subconsciously of course. but the fact is they still dont know, they dont know for sure where they are going after death, they acknowledge that it might not be true. that is my opinion.

When I was little, I tried running away from the world. Everytime I got out the back door and past the fence, I had only one problem: I was still on the planet.
I don't think you get the christians riled up. I think they don't care about the world of unseen human nature and darkness of the mind. That's the world they try to get away from, but run as they might, they're still on the planet. Most atheists are less than a blip on the radar screen to most religious folk. They just serve another purpose and are too blind to see it. It's all rather amusing. But all things in due time.

Actually we do. There are more people than you know who do not concern themselves with wordly things at all. Some live in caves, mountains, the desert or monasteries and eat enough to sustain them and own nothing. Many meditate or pray for long periods of time. And there are ordinary everyday people who go to work in the helping field and barely make a living for themselves when with their education they could have corporate jobs and make much more. There are whole religions (7th day adventists come to mind) who donate their time several times a year helping impoverished countries build or farm or offer what ever services they are trained for. My dentist does free dental work once a month in a god forsaken country....pays to get there himself. You will also find that as people get older they care less and less about having things....you think old people hold onto their old furnishings for other reasons but they just don't care anymore about unimportant things and concentrate on being a good child of God. Priests, ministers, rabbi's, nurses, social workers, public officials, police officers, fireman....no one does that for the money.
If no one believed in God then you might as well just kill everyone you don't like, steal anything you want, have sex with anyone you want to, compile as much money as you can in any way you can and go blithely through life because if this is it....it doesn't matter.

Not all Christians are worldly. It depends on the person. They should not be caught up with this world, but some are. It is a temptation and struggle to be involved with materialism, money, and things of this world which claim to satisfy, but in the long run do not. It should be prayed upon and the Holy Spirit can help you to turn from these ways. When people live this way, they are taking the Lord's name in vain. Christ himself was poor, humble, and serving others. Although I do not consider myself worldly, I do have to live on this earth for now. You have to associate with this world a little bit. Is it my goal to get ahead or live it up here...No.

You are absolutely correct...we should not be caught up in the things of the world....Concern for human souls,is another matter...We are not mad if we can not win an argument....we are saddened when others will not see... We were once as you...and were, by God's grace, given additional light,we approached the light and were changed....We are not earning our salvation by prostelitizing and defending the gospel, our eternal security has already been established and covered....We simply are desperately trying to share something that is best understood experiencialy....Only God can find you...we are simply telling others that He is real and is looking for you.

Well, only a certain number of people actually follow everything in their religion. You can still be religious and not believe everything that your religion teaches (i.e. if you're Catholic, you are to believe everyone who isn't Catholic will go to hell. I don't believe that). As far as people getting riled up over Atheists or Agnostics...I suppose they want to impart what they believe on to others. People usually think they are right, or have the best idea.

I try to follow God's ways. I don't judge you either... everyone is on a path, sooner or later people evolve and grow and learn love of God.
I think Christians get in a frenzy because they believe it is only this one life we're dealing with, and they feel so much compassion for all people, therefore try to get them to see the light, before having to rot in hell for all eternity. Isn't it compassionate? It must be so fearful for those followers, and they just want to help you, and like a loving parent want to slap you to reality i think. All based on the belief in such a mean sentence of eternal hell.
But God set up this world for us to learn. He GAVE us our free will. And the original choice we made (and why we are here in this material realm, is to try to enjoy separately.. selfishly.. a very exploitative nature which is unnatural for us all...
I urge all people to search for God for 2 reasons, 1 because it is when we connect with God that we become truly happy, that we come to our constitutional position, our natural place, and finally feel complete and all the illusion and temporariness of the world becomes insignificant.
and 2 we are now in this human form of life, it is rare, and it is the only species of life where consciousness is uncovered enough that we can really contemplate these higher subjects. This human form of life, is the form where we can do acts that can change our futures dramaticly.. Animals and even demigods cannot act in the same capacity as humans. And we don't know where our actions will take us if we misuse this precious human form of life, we may have to again be caught in the tightly woven network of actions and reactions suffered or enjoyed involuntarily in so many forms of life... even in heaven and in hell...
Good news is- and why i'm not pushy and a fighter, is that it's temporary. if you don't want to come to God no one is forcing you and you simply will be in the network for a long time till you again come to the rare human life..... your choice.

Left unchecked, atheist go way off the deep end beings they have no true moral compass. Hitler, Stalin, Pol pot, Idi Amin were allowed to indulge in their evil heart's desires w/o any sort of Christian influence. We are to be in the world, but not a part of it. You all can have all the porn, drugs, and depravity you can stomach, true Christians will have nothing to do with it.

Because our God loves all of us...even the lost ones. He is the good shepherd that will go out in the night after just one of his lost sheep.

We are told by our God to tell the good news to all people. We are to pray for the lost souls...because we desire your salvation too. Yes, it's your free will...but if you see someone driving 100MPH towards a cliff...you are going to yell out STOP! You will try to save them...well most of us will. That is how we see it...you are heading to eternal damnation and we want you to know what is up ahead. Once you know...you certainly have the option to continue...

i do no longer think of Jesus meant for the physique of Christ to do foot washing each and all of the time. It replaced right into a logo of serving others. of path, in those days whilst human beings walked long distances in sandals, their ft have been given very grimy and mandatory washing. It replaced into the custom to often wash the ft of the travellers they well-known plenty or felt obligated to and enjoyed. we are to serve others in procedures that must be frustrating for us, yet do what they desire.
