Very profitable but hard work. Maine is home to most of the lobster boats, but there are some also in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Montauk, New York. Since there is a lot of money to be made, the industry is heavily regulated and it cost a lot of money to get a lobster fishing license. There were lobsters also in the Long Island sound, but they died off of some unknown disease. While they were there, however, competition was fierce and cutthroat to catch them.

Very profitable. I mean, people catch thousands of pounds of lobsters and auction it off. They sell the lobsters for like 90 cents a pound and they cost about 10 dollars a pound in the stores.

Read "The Lobster Chronicles" by Linda Greenlaw. The book paints a realistic picture of lobster fishing. Greenlaw was captain of a Swordfishing boat before she went into lobstering. She knows her stuff.

It seems like a good life to me but you probably won't become wealthy.
