It would depend on the covanent you have sworn with your god(s).

Under the early definition to sin meant that a person had transgressed what they had sworn to their OWN god(s) to uphold. That is why a sinner was so vile. If a sinner was willing to LIE and DEFY their own god, truth was NOTHING was sacred to them.

My OPINION ONLY >>> when you drink enough to harm your body, then that was too much.
Secondarily >>> when you drink so much that you are impaired in reflexes and safety judgment to the extent that you can cause physical harm to yourself and others ( auto accident) that was too much.
