Seriously, in this country we have a tendency to disregard information when the information is not inline with our thinking or beliefs. For example, we have been told that the rich don't pay taxes. The rich account for over 60 percent of the taxes. We have also been told that the poor is not taken care of. The truth of the matter is that 60 percent of the government budget goes to entitlement programs. Which includes welfare, social security, medicare, and medicaid.

just in the usa? i think not! this is a human trait shared by half of the 7 billion people worldwide. if the 'facts' do not fit our beliefs & theories, we re-invent (or invent) new ones. or, the best yet, is hearing only what we want to hear. come on - this isn't just a liberal cause or election time cause or anything else cause. this is a human fraility that many of us have to work on to correct. but lighten up! of all the nasty things humans can & do to ourselves & others, this is probably the least noxious. smell the coffee, eat another slice of strawberry pie & watch the birdie. life's short so what the heck! right?

The Truth .....what is the truth ?
The rich and well to do ...have investments that pay annually, or savings, and their good health...because they do and have enjoyed vacations away from stress, can afford healthy foods, and have supplementary health insurance after retirement. They can afford these luxuries.
Entitlement programs: ....The average disability or welfare check is $600 a month and now one to has to work in order to be eligible... at which time these "benefits" will be adjusted down.
Food stamps .. the average =$118. a month.
Medical benefits ..?
You should research what ISN'T covered by these entitlement programs including glasses and dental.
Social security : The average check is for about $900 dollars a month.
Medicare/ Medicaid....do not pay for everything and many tests and precedures are charged back to the client. AFTER THE FACT.

The average household of (two earners)=$32,000 a year.
Sounds like alot to some of us but when you consider the basics, food, electricity, transportation, heating, clothing, and a college fund ?
These people rarely eligible for entitlement benefits of any note even in a crisis situation.
I could go on but I hope by now you realize that though the rich may create jobs by helping to finance business that creates jobs, and though they do pay a hefty taxes etc.....
They aren't "doing without" by anby stretch of the imagination.
That's the truth.

There is no doubt in my mind. I agree that the biggest part of the tax base is used for social programs. However, the problem the working poor have with the wealthy is the possibility of medical care and other necessities which the wealthy can afford, and the poor get through the aforementioned programs, but the fast evaporating middle class cannot afford nor qualify for. There's a truth.

Many Americans are immersed in the Truth. Others have their fingers in their ears and their heads in the sand. Seek answers and you will find.

There are so many books and scholarly works by knowledgeable sources who are trying to alert the public. Just check any bookstore and look for books that examine what Bush has done to destroy this nation.

The truth rarely condemns conservatives. So the most ignorant among us, the ones out there on the front lines of the news and media, have no real interest in hearing it.

You mean, are we ready to have Condaleezza Rice become our next President? Well, the smart, savvy, sophisticated Republicans would like nothing more.

Condi will save our nation. Foreigners will never be able to verbally insult us again. It would be too non-PC !

That's good that the country is helping.
But Only if the country's program would work better.
It's nice that it's there, but if it doesn't help the people it needs to.
What good is it

I totally agree with you, we hand out more then we can take in money wise, if this continues then our economy and government could fall. Simple fact of economics.

Of course they are not ready! Some things are meant to be kept secret. Ignorance is bliss. Let them down slowly
