-Irresponsible and slutty teenage girls between the ages of 13-18 should keep their legs closed.
-Abortions should be available to those who feel that they are not fit to be mothers, have financial issues, have medical issues that can result in possible death during labor, and for rape and incest victims without the rediculous controversy.
OR
-Maybe we should do what China is doing?...only minus the gender issues. Limit the amount of children per family.

I hope that someday all families will be able to provide for the children they have.
I would always encourage adoption being an adoptee & an adoptive parent myself. Views concerning adoption continue to improve each decade. Hopefully, as it becomes seen as a choice in family planning and not just a fallback, more families will choose to look into it. Birthcontrol is a big issue. It should be available to those who need it, but would still face religious and cultural obstacles. Large biological families are popular in a lot of areas. Even if it is not my choice, it's not my business if they can handle it.
***China does limit children in the household, but this is sometimes a bit misunderstood. If you have a daughter first, you can still have a son. If you are certain ethnicities or out in the country, it may not apply. If you can pay the fee, you can have more than one child. Families who abide the 1 child policy receive benefits from the government. All of this does come with the weight of infanticide, forced abortions and gender selective abortions, plus the numbers of female children waiting to be adopted. I bet it is not an easy thing to live with overall.

I know that for some, abortion is a "stigma", but it really shouldn't.
Giving teenagers in highschool a comprehensive, unbiased sexual education about birth control options and the right to abort can help reduce suffering for both, confused, vulnerable parents and future unwanted future "children".
Make birth control options and safe, legal abortions available especially for the poorer people.
Don't work on illegalizing abortion, or picking "which" abortion is "right" or "wrong". Fertility issues are very personal issues with very personal situations, and a doctor is MORE qualified to help the woman make a decision on her fertility than a politician ever will.
Educate humans to care more about global, environmental issues.
Also, educate humans about the reality of raising a child. Children are not disposable things that you have for fun or a status symbol, they are human beings and people need a basic education on childhood psychology in order to be responsible citizens and rear future responsible citizens. Carelessness while breeding fosters a lesser quality of life, and usually a destructive one.
I know that America has not recently taken measures similar to what I have suggested here, which is sad. Allowing uneducated teenagers and young adults to breed irresponsibly is a way for the country to get cheap capitalist labor and military cannon fodder, a formula for a lower quality of life, and a consumption model that is not earth-friendly.

I don't agree. But parts of the world can't sustain their population numbers. Nature's laws will work the reduction by all sorts of things we don't like to talk about. Famine, epidemic, gang warfare, the law of the jungle--survival of the fittest. The world is not a unified entity. Any proposal for the entire world I'd think would have to be something like this: WAKE UP AND LOOK AROUND YOU.

Nothing. I have 2 children, which won't reduce the population but it won't increase it either.
But world population growth has slowed significantly. In 50 years, only Africa is expected to still have high growth, and severe poverty. This is not a coincidence. Wealth slows population growth. Rich people have fewer children, as a rule. The two most populous countries, China and India, are getting richer quit fast, and this will have a dramatic effect on the growth rates in those countries.

It's not so much that the world is over-populated, more that it's under-resourced. Or more correctly, that certain countries maintain a stranglehold or monopoly on resources to the detriment of others.
If things were shared around more equally there would be far fewer problems, often the trouble is that those who have always want more and those who haven't just want anything.

Nothing. It's happening and we can do nothing
about it. Perhaps you and I but look at the
other countries. India has already surpassed
the one billion mark and still counting. Other
third world countries are having babies while
they watch their other children starve to death
before their very eyes. Don't they know what's
causing this? They sure don't act like it. No,
there is nothing we can do but stand back and
wait for famine to begin here as it is in other
countries. I don't want to be a doom and
gloom person but people it's coming.

Kind of offended by some answers. I have a college education and I still served in the military. Anyway I don't see people slowing their birthrates. So besides a major war that culls around 50% of the pop.

overpopulation is inevidable the population will continue to increase but its how that population is treated and handled that will cause a problem. And I propose that people should take care of the population so people wouldnt have to say that there is already too much people.

Well, I for one am not planning on having kids. I would much rather adopt. I think that adoption would be a big step; then families (or parents) do not have to go without kids, but they wouldn't be adding to the population - they would be improving the lives of the population instead. I think China has the right idea - if people arn't going to control thier population, make laws to control it for them. Go China! If the rest of the world was as smart as China, we could easily solve alot of environmental problems.
