Hi:

Wow this is tough criteria to fit into. But it seems you are in luck tonight. My Son (12yo) has Autism. He is extreme high functioning with working towards his goal his whole life. He now fits the criteria for Asperger's .

He has NEVER had Asthma or Asthma like symptoms.
He has NEVER had any type of food allergies.
He has NEVER had eczema.
He has NO KNOWN medication allergies.
He has NEVER had any GI problems.

I hope this helps. Please, if there is something that you think I may be able to help you with, feel free to use my contact info on the profile page.

Best of Luck

I have worked with many kids with autism in several jobs (as an occupational therapist, in a home-based therapeutic services program, as a camp counselor, and doing respite care). I have always had access to their health info for safety reasons. Of all the kids I worked with, a few had medication allergies, but the majority had no allergies (to food or medication), asthma, or eczema. Not sure what you're trying to figure out, but I have never seen any correlation between autism and any of these conditions. There is some limited research regarding food sensitivities in kids with autism (for example, certain behaviors greatly decreasing when dairy products are removed from the child's diet)...don't know if that's what you're looking for? Good luck.

I have 2 sons with autism diagnoses, aged 7 and 2. Neither one has asthma, food allergies, eczema or medication allergies. And, no G/I disorders. In case it helps your research, my husband has asthma and I am allergic to penicillin (spelling?).

I also have three nephews with autism, ages 15, 10 and 4. One nephew (age 15) has asthma and the 4 year old has G/I issues. He had heart surgery at 5 months and developed severe reflux and has been on a G/I tube since. I'm not aware of any allergies or eczema for any of them.

My oldest son and my youngest son are both on the Autism Spectrum and neither one of them have allergies to anything. They have never had a reaction to any medication, food, vaccines, and they do not have any skin disorders. I do have to add though, that there are manychildren with Autism that I have met that do have problems with all of the above. My middle so has allergies to medications. My best friend's son is Autistic and he has bronchial problems, eczema. There is the theory that food allergies to wheat and milk cause Autistic like behavior, although I persomally have never seen any benefit from the diet excluding these items. I hope that this can help you in your search.

My grandson was born deaf ,but was extremely smart(150+sign language words by age 2). After his MMR he stopped signing and trying to vocalize. After a lot of research and testing he was diagnosed Autistic. He has a lot of neurological problems, digestive disorders, sleep disorders and other behavioral and developmental delays. He is almost 12 and after lots of battles with School boards, Tenn Care Ins.and working with Advocates from different agencies(local and governmental) he STILL does not have the services he needs.I filled out an application for financial help over a year ago with a similar group and heard nothing back.I am getting to the end of my rope(hope) of getting services because of cuts by Tenn Care.
