That might depend upon things we will never know, like what WOULD HAVE happened if we didn't invade.
Saddam knew Israel has atomic weapons, and probably believed Iran is developing them; so it is hard to believe that he would not try to get them when his two greatest enemies have or will have them.
Another possible good thing might be the establishment of a Kurdish nation if Iraq is divided among the groups. At least that might be good if the Kurds can figure out how to get along peacefully with the Turks and Iran.
I guess the bottom line is "it is too early to tell"

i believe that the best thing that will come out of the whole BS is one thing that not many will think of.
We as a society will not forget the sacrifices and the importance of having the best military in the world. p
Please do not forget about the war in Afgahnistan.
i returned from a deployment and it was about 2am EST. my unit and i were greeted by several veterans and their wives. the vets ranged from wwII, korea, and vietnam. well after the generous welcome we recieved, we went to a few shops to grab some coffee, a snack and, hygiene items (next stop was ft benning--HOME), a few of the vets were hanging around. i was sitting with a couple of my coworkers when a vet from vietnam came up and started talking to us. well we got on the subject......well he was all choked up and he said that he wanted to make sure that we were not forgotten like he has been.
if you like your freedoms, your life then when you see a vet thank them.

I'd say the execution of Sadaam Hussein, a true "weapon of mass destruction", is a positive. It is clear that he desired a nuclear arsenal, the demise of Israel and the West, and was a sadist and murderer. I also believe it gives the US a small foothold in the Middle East and takes a step towards stabiliztion.

It did remove Saddam and save the Khurds from his genocide and it did make us see how dangerous the religious right is and how we can never let them turn this country into a right win christian police state any more than we can let it turn into a left wing welfare state. it's made us question authority and express our beliefs in terms of sheer strength and polarization we haven't seen since Vietnam. We've seen how valuable our civil rights our from the administration's blatant abuse of them.

Depends who you are. If you happen to be the many contracting companies that are part of the military industrial complex in this country, you would have made a fortune.
The democrats profited because Bush made so many blunders, it cost his party the house and thus his ability to get a rubber stamp approval for his unconstitutional laws. Now the democrats being in power being a good thing or bad is something that is upon you to decide.
If you were one of the family members who suffered a death in the family due to the war, then it is not so positive.

Depends on whose perspective you're referring to by "positive".
The average U.S. citizen absolutely not; its run in excess of what, 200+billion as of right now, alienated us from the majority of the Middle East (as well as a fair share of the countries in the UN) and essentially caused a civil war....those are the negatives...
the only "positive" I can think are share holders from military contractors like Lockheed Martin (who make missiles and such)

The only thing I can think of is that somebody came up with a better-protected vehicle than the Humvee. That might save lives in the next idiotic war those lunatics in Washington get us into. (Sorry if you count that as bashing. When I think of how many people have died on both sides, I get very angry).

If there are, i'm totally unaware of them.
I can name all the bads but not one good one. I'm sorry. If there is anything good to come out of it, I've yet to see it. After all this time
maybe some good things will come out of the war for the Iraq civilians but the after effects for Americans, businesses, our economy, Other countries.. totally backfired.. or will in the future
