sorry about asking again. xP so there's another practice problem and it says:

"Ellas lo hicieron de manera que (ser) más fácil para nosotros.
and you have the conjugate the thing in parenthesis.

the answer was "fuera".
is that right? why isn't it fueran?

Right! it is "fuera" because "manera" is singular.
"La manera fuera más fácil"
"Las maneras fueran más fáciles"
See?

fueran is plural and in this case you are talking about the way = manera which is singular.
