It is all out speed that's being sold over a furlong, which - and I know I'm not alone in this opinion - is only a gauge for someone looking for the screws tightened on a very young 2yo.

Look for a nice Adena runner - Powerful Storm - to debut soon at Churchill Downs. He is a nice 2yo who is moving forward in his morning works.

That horse actually wasn't the fastest of the horses in the video...

They all look pretty good, but there's so many horses in the country who train as 2 year olds and never turn out to be anything at all... i mean look at the green monkey.

It can't be Barbaro's brother... Barbaro's oldest full brother is just a yearling still... he'll be 2 next year... so he wouldn't be worked like that yet. And in people terms, we'd say that he is a half-brother, but in horse terms it's not... a half-brother in horse terms is a horse from the same mother. A full brother is both the same mother and father. Dynaformer sires quite a lot of horses each year... although they are all brothers and sisters in our terms, we can't call them that for horses... we say who they're sired by and that's how you can tell the bloodlines... if you know it's sired by Dynaformer, you know it's related to all of these horses: http://www.pedigreequery.com/progeny/dynaformer
Instead of saying the mare's name, they say it's a half brother to someone... because most people don't know broodmares' names... you'd know Dynaformer because he sired so many horses. But you most likely would not know La Ville Rouge's name since she's only had 4 registered horses... even if you knew Barbaro, a lot of people wouldn't realize that another horse out of La Ville Rouge was Barbaro's brother. So that's why you hear who the horse is sired by and who it's related to.
FYI... Here's the list of La Ville Rouge's registered offspring: http://www.pedigreequery.com/progeny/la+ville+rouge

The horse cant be Barbaro's full brother because Barbaro only has two full brothers the older on is Niconar and he only started his training and the youngest one is only a coulple of months old. So that horse on the video is probably a half brother to Barbaro.

race horses are only considered half siblings if the mare is the same not the sire. and of course a full sibling if both parents are the same
