Usually more like 50-100 dollars per hour. "Colors" has nothing to do with it. It's usually closer to 100 for a good artist. This is what he/she will tell you as a per hour rate. But smart people will usually make a deal for a certain fee for a certain amount of work, like $300 for an afternoon.
Really, you should be paying whatever the artist asks.

Ask your artist. I've payed 200 for an hour of work, but it was very good work.
In tattooing, you get what you pay for. The first poster, with the $20 per hour quote, sounds seriously questionable to me. I have never heard of rates that low unless the person is a scratcher.
It will also depend on your design, the more complex, the more it costs.
The best way to tell is to get in with your design and ask.

it all depends on the talent level of your artist. some charge by the size of the tattoo you are getting. some by the design and some by the hour. you can expect to pay anywhere from $40 to $250 an hour for a tattoo. it really all depends on the artist you are using. also colors vs. black and grey varies too. in my opinion competent professional artists don't charge more to do color tattoos. a tattoo is a tattoo no matter what inks they work with.

I don't know but I do know that you should always take pictures of your tattoos and leave them with family members, in case anything happens to you. It is a form of identification.

A tatoo should cost 20 $ per hour for a good job.
Colours should be an extra 10 $ per colour
My brother works at a high-end tat parlour and I know that for a good job that is the rate.
