Firstly, I'm very sorry you have had breast cancer. My wife has had it, so I know what you're going through with the night sweats, and hot flushes.
It drove her mad too and still does occasionally but there are certain types of medication to help you with this.
I suggest you visit your GP or Consultant and ask about a tablet called "CLONIDINE". This particular medication is perfectly safe and does not interfere with any hormone production (ie; oestrogen).
All this was explained fully to my wife when she was first prescribed the tablet. They started her on a low dose initially but now she takes a much stronger dose.
The tablets are 25 micrograms and she takes three tablets twice a day. It does seem to help a great deal.
I hope your Doctor agrees to try you on these tablets and I wish you good luck, good health and happiness in the future.

Try Vitex (Agnus Castus). You can get a bottle of the herbal fluid extract from most health shops and from Holland and Barratt. This helped me and then I tried Acupuncture - absolutely amazing for me. It initially cost me £40 for the first treatment and consultation - almost 2 hours, and now once a month (only because I love it) I pay £30 for an hour session. Even though the first day I was scared to death of the needles, I didn't feel them going in my skin and afterwards I felt really fabulous - peaceful and cool and relaxed. I just have acupuncture as a treat now! Menopace, as a previous answerer suggested is also very helpful and there are vitamins and minerals in the capsules that you need more of at the time of menopause. My sister in law swears by Dong Qui tablets. Everyone is different and our bodies respond to different things. Please don't try them all at once though - I know that desperate feeling, but, really, it will get easier! All of the treatments I have mentioned are quite safe for someone who has had breast cancer, but even so, always consult your doctor or hospital consultant first. They will most likely either say that none of these things are much good, or say that you can give them a try if you want to. Be positive. Things will get better, and anyway, you gradually get used to the hot flushes so that they no longer bother you the same! xx

Find out what you can about Dr John R Lee. John R Lee's patients did not get breast cancer. He was against giving women HRT. Visit echt-progesterone.50megs.com for the transcripts of two his talks and my stress diagram click on the TABS.
Browse www.npis.info there maybe a doctor near you you may wish to visit.
Visit www.hormoneprofile.com and if still available read Jennie Mills story she set up hormoneprofile.com to help others in a similar situation to herself.
Search on the web for "natural progesterone USP hot flushes" and you will come across many site. USP means United States Pharmacopoeia - a guarantee of quality on US medicines. Have a saliva test done www.salivatest.com. Follow the correct dosage size ten shoes are not twice as good if you have size five feet.
Johne Lee learnt from his women patients. Smart women will help spread the message .. doctors won't due to the influence of the large drug companies.
My interest is that progesterone also helped the women's husbands. Progesterone will stop breast cancer in 70 - 80% of cases.

Menopace tablets or Superdrugs own version called "Menopause" both excellent herbal and they work for me I was getting hot flushes and sever sweats every other day now I only get them about once a week if that !! And I am sleeping better too.
You need to take them for at least a month before you may see any results though you do have to persist.
My doc reccomended them due to hormonal problems from previous years and a reason breast lump scare which turned out to be a fluid filled cyst.

How about a fan, soaking in a tub of ice. I don't mean to be funny, I am a 14 year breast cancer survivor, and have had a hysterectomy so I know just what you are going through. The only thing that might help is (I will not be able to spell this right) black cohosh, it does help more than anything else. **** Luck and God Bless you.

Red clover works very good but takes about 1-2 weeks before you experience real results. I was dx with b/c at 31 and the chemo and (anti) hormone treatments put me into menopause...had upwards of 40 hot flushes a day. My very well respected doctor recommended red clover and said that even though it is a phytoestrogen (plant based estrogen), it was completely safe for me. He is a university doctor whose specialty is breast cancer research in Vienna, Austria.

If you can drink soya milk drink at least a glass a day. Check with your doctor to make sure you can take any of the herbal and soya milk remedies as they all contain a plant form of oestrogen and its the lack of oestrogen that causes the hot flushs.

Abstinence = 100% effective Birth Control Pills = 99% Condoms = 86% effective in most cases, 99% effective if used correctly-- the most reliable brand is durex With both the pill and condoms you MUST read up and learn the best ways to use them -- for example, you can't use petrolium based lubes with condoms, anti-biotics make the pill less effective, and so on.
