My young son's cousin has recently had his adenoids removed as they seemed to affect his airways. My son also seems to have a constant cold lately,- should he be checked for adenoids?

Everyone has adenoids. They're glands.
I assume what you're talking about is enlarged adenoids, and in that case, take him to the doctor if his symptoms have lasted for more than a week .
