I've prayed to God to help me in various ways in a myriad of situations but He doesn't answer me. Not that I'm looking for a voice to come down from heaven or anything (though, that would be GREAT!) but my questions are not answered or my problematic situations come to fruition (either as resolved, not resolved, or something in between) without any apparent intervention from God. Sometimes I wonder if God just hates me because I'm a woman and/or because I'm an evil person in His eyes because of all the stupid things I've done in life. I wonder if I should give up on trying to have a relationship with Him in this life. I don't feel capable of being a good Christian though there have been times when I really and truly felt that I was giving it my best. Lately, I just want to give up and be selfish and evil like the rest of the world.

Does God Answer Prayers?

The answer is yes, no, and wait. If God answered every prayer from everyone who asked, God would become our own personal genie. Basically we would just have to tell God our wish and he would grant it to us. This is not biblical to think all prayers will be answered. If God answered every prayer the world would turn in to a big mess. God knows what is best for us.

Here are some conditions that God has for our prayers:
1) We are to ask in God’s name. This means we need to ask in God’s will. God’s will is what ever glorifies God. The bible says, “I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. (John 14:13,14)
2) God cannot hear us if there is sin in our hearts. If we are living a life that we are being convicted of and do not repent of our sins, God will not hear our prayers. Our prayers will only be heard when we repent to God and turn from our sins. If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. (Psalm 66:18)
3) God will not answer us if we do not have faith that God will hear and answer our prayers. We need to also have faith that God knows best for our lives and will not answer the prayers that will hurt us. There is always a reason for answered and unanswered prayers. We will not always understand this but God does. Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6)
4) We need to ask in God’s will. If we ask in prayer for the wrong motives our prayer will not be answered. When you ask, you do not receive; because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. (James 4:3)
5) Sometimes we need to wait and know God will answer when the time is right. When we ask God in prayer, our prayers will not always be instant. Now days everyone wants things instant. This is not how God works. The Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. (Luke 18:6-8)

Please don't give up and go back out into the world. God is there and He DOES answer prayer, just not always in a way we can recognize. I have had prayers answered quickly, and then sometimes I look at something that has happened and think " Wow! This is the answer to that prayer I prayed 7 months ago! I guess God really does know what is best. If -------had happened/resloved when I asked, it would not have been in my best interest at that time". Just think of it this way. Everything happens for a reason, and it happens in God's season. My son was recently hospitalized for seizures. I had prayed for God to get his attention and get him back on track no matter what it took, even putting him/me/his dad/his wife in the ground. Well, guess what. He had a grand mal seizure, was in intensive care ,and came out of the hospital a different man, looking for God's purpose in his life! So, don't give up, and don't worry. If you pray for God's will and not yours, everything will come around in due time.

Please don't give up. The Lord is there and He hears all of your prayers. Maybe the answer you get is not the answer you're looking for. Or maybe, as I have often found, we must be willing to accept His answers. It is hard, especially when starting out, to use problems as a stepping stone to get closer to God. Think of the rocks in your path as stairs to bring you closer. If you rely on God and listen and pray for His will, you will gain stronger faith. But remember, suffering may be His will. It could be serving to prepare you for a different situation--a lesson for the future if you may. You may look back and be thankful for the tools you were given. As for the evil--just remember that we all have done horrible things and they all hurt our Savior equally. God is a God of mercy. He gives forgiveness to all who call upon Him. He doesn't hate you because you're a woman! There are many women in the Bible whom the Lord declares to be excellent examples of what faith should be like. We are ALL His children. What a loving God we have!

Thats an intersting question and even testamony that you have shared. And as another christian woman there are times when prayers have and have not been answered. I had to learn that sometimes the answer to our prayers are not always " yes" .. sometimes its.. " No.. or Wait"
Prayer is an interesting thing though. Its communication with God... and so often we tend to pray and walk away...have a one sided kind of conversation and not wait for an answer from the Lord through the word or just waiting in His presence... we are the go go go people:)
One thing sister.. that has truly touched me over the years is this... Prayer is not just an individual matter.. sometimes we may need to pray in two's and three's regarding a certain matter....
Our asking of the Lord for anything should come from our " abiding " in Him...
He said that HE is the vine and we are the branches.. that apart from Him we really can do nothing... and later in those verses he says that ask whatever we will and it shall be given to us... But in the past i saw only this verse and not the ones before regarding abiding in the Lord.
From abiding we get to have a sense of what is on the Lord's heart.. what HE will answer or not .
There is a fact thought:)... THere is the will of God in the heavens and our prayers here on the earth brings that will in the heavens into being. But we ask not by ourselves but with another brother or sister in teh Lord.
The word also speaks of the Holy Spirit groaning in us to the Father with groanings which cannot be uttered.. sometimes girlie.. we simply do not know how to pray.. but the Spirit interceeds for us.
The Lord also Prays in the heavens for us as our High Priest.

Do not give up on the Lord.. Prayer sometimes is just such a joy to God. its like we're finally coming to have a little chat time with Him.. Not just to ask him to do stuff for us or get this for us or change that.. but like any parent ..he wants His kids to simply come sit on his lap and talk to him about their day and even tell him how much they love him:)
I have kids and its my greatest joy when they do that:)

but the best thing about prayer sister... even though the outward environment does not always change.... after spending some time in God's presence somethign happens with our " inward environment" .. it actually changes a bit.... we are strengthened to face what we need to face to grow in teh Lord... we had a time of " abiding" in the Lord's prensence to have a sense of what is on His heart.
All in all dear one.. we may not always know what the Lord is doing .. sometimes we cannot trace His hand.. but always.. we can trust His heart to know what we need to grow and develop in the christian life. Keep reading the word dear one.. it will chase away all the lies and doubts and fortify you to face each situation with the Lord.

If you look, you'll probably find that the rest of the world isn't so evil. There are plenty of kind Buddhists, Wiccans, Athiests, et cetera.
But that's besides the point. You are being too demanding, both of your God, and yourself. What you need to learn how to do is forgive. You are right, you will never be a 'good' Christian because in your eyes 'good' is synonymous for perfect. Accept your faults, forgive yourself for them, and strive to make them better. That's all anyone can do. But you will never be without fault, and this is something you must come to terms with.

Just consider taking the supernatural element out of the analysis of your situation. Maybe God isn't ignoring you or punishing you. Maybe you simply aren't taking the initiative to solve your problems on your own. "God helps those who help themselves" (to stick the supernatural element back in). Yeah, there are still certain situations that are beyond our control - but it's sad to think that people ascribe those situations to the wrath of a judgmental God. It's even sadder that you believe the only alternative to this approach is to be "selfish and evil." Just don't expect things to magically happen as the result of prayer if you aren't taking steps to make them happen yourself.

Have you asked Jesus to come into your life, forgive you of yours sins and become your personnel Savior first? If you have you need to remember that God answers prayers in His time and that they will always work to the good. If you pray for things that have not come to pass, ask Him to guide you in His direction. Keep your faith, He is listening and loves you so much. Not every situation is going to seem fare, but He will always provide for you and give you all the strength you need to get through every situation. You've made it this far, right? God Bless you sister, I'll pray for you. Don't let the devil try to trick you....you know he is a liar and wants you to think everything is hopeless. Don't give him that power!

It has been said that God gave women a beauty that can be seen as greater than the beauty of man. God also entrusted women with the resposibility of bringing life into this world.

I have heard that the devil was the most beautiful angel. The theory is that the devil especially hates women because of their beauty and the fact that they are the ones who bring life into this world. Thus his attacks are especially fierce toward women.

Once the devil comes between a woman and God, then he can take their beauty as well as their ability to bring life into this world.

Stick with it, love. Since He’s put the desire in you to seek Him out, then He will allow you to find Him if your willing to be patient.

He will ultimately reward your patients with peace.

you need to practice. Try this...put a slice of bread (not toast) in the toaster. Press the switch down. Then, as hard as you can pray that god shoot some toast out of that slot in the box. When the toast appears, tell yourself the prayer has been answered.

Most people have to do that bazillions of times before they can get the prayer about the newspaper delivered before 6:30 answered in the affirmative.

Oh yeah, and you can pretty much count on getting the "no" or "later" answers a lot.

Alright, that's enough sarcasm for now...I hope it helps.

Hard to give real advice because I don't know you personally and I can't ask questions...
Look for someone that has a on fire relationship with Jesus and ask them how they do it.. It is the same for everyone, me included. God doesn't treat one differently than another..
Before you are going to have a real relationship with God you must be born again.. John chapter 3
