The Bible says "and it shall come to pass in the last days saith God, I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh and your sons and your daughthers shall prophesy and your young men shall see vision and your old men shall dream dreams" Acts 2:17
The Bible also says "Blessed are ye when men shall HATE you and when they shall separate you from their company and shall REPROACH you and cast your name out as evil for the Son of man's sake.........for in like manner did their fathers unto the prophets" Luke 6:22, 23
So true prophets of God are often hated, discarded, ostracized and scorned according to Christ. Who are some examples of modern day prophets in the world today or who have lived within the last century or two?
This list should be pretty short but I'm interested to see if the body of Christ is in tune with what God is and has been doing in these last days.

i believe in Ellen G. White as a prophet. I also believe we are about to see a whole lot more true prophets, (and false) arise very soon. Maybe this summer? Who knows?

Don't really know of any. There was that 7 or 8-year old boy in Texas who told his teacher of a dream he had that these two tall buildings in New York had airplanes fly into them. He was very upset by this dream, but the teacher of course figured it was just a bad dream. Two days later was September 11. Afterwards, the teacher called the FBI, thinking maybe the child had overheard something, and the child was throughly checked out, but seems it did simply come from a dream, he didn't overhear anything. I suppose that would come under the "see visions" or "dream dreams" category.
There are a lot of people out there calling themselves prophets, but I think most of them are just charlatans, like the TV evangelicals.
By the way, Ellen G. White was not a prophet of God. The bible says a prophet of God will never be wrong, and she was on numerous occassions, including that the civil war would put an end to the United States. She went so far as to tell her followers not to have kids because they wouldn't survive.

There are a lot of hated Christian individuals these days, in the public eye, on television and even among the churches. So that pretty much sums it up for me!

There's only one I know of Fritz Springmeier and he got framed and thrown in jail with his character assasinated!! Google him and check out his books and videos..they're all free!

Ellen G. White is the only person that I know of that stands up to the tests of a biblical prophet.
