I find it hard to swallow this justification for our presense in Iraq:

"We're fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them over here."

Of course I dread to see violence in my home country. But is it fair to take violence to a land of people that would not have otherwise been involved with a conflict?

I'm putting the motivation for the war and it's outcome aside, I just find this particular explanation of the conflict to be revolting and shameful. We must have better reasons that that.

How do R&Sers view this issue, focusing on my main question: Is it immoral to make another country your battle arena?

Sawyer, what does that even mean? Are you dodging the question?

Having been small for my age, I was frequently the victim of bullies. Had it not been for others coming to my rescue, I would probably had a much more rough childhood than I did.
I'm grateful for those who volunteered their services to come to my aid.

I cannot believe that no one can believe that we chased Al Queda from Afghanistan to Iraq, Iran, Syria, and Pakistan. I cannot believe that no one can believe that Hamas, Hezbollah and other Islamic terrorists are all in cahoots. How many Americans do they have to kill before we say "they must be fought?"

We did nothing when they blew up the SS Cole battleship. We did nothing when they attempted to blow up the World Trade Center earlier. We did nothing when they blew up our Embassies. When they blew up 3,000 innocent people in the Twin Towers, don't you think it was about time to try to stop them? Our President warned the countries harboring these terrorists that we were coming to get them. Did you ever listen to Saddam Hussein and how he massacred his own people? This tyrant would not stop if he ever got a wmd. You can also believe the President of Iran and what he said, about destroying Israel and the USA.

Our President cannot be concerned about a few USA ex-officials who made these people mad. Our President must react in the best interest of the people and I believe President Bush tried to do this. A sign of weakness to these people will only bring on more attacks. We must stay strong against them. Remember, both democrats and republicans voted for this war. At this very moment neither party knows exactly what is the right thing to do. We don't want to kill innocent Iraqi people trying to get terrorists and because we are a humane nation we are sacrificing our beloved soldiers because we are trying to save innocent people in this war.

Economics and Imperialism are ideas more important to the US.

Remember that moral believes can be relative.

I agree, it is totally immoral. That is the lamest excuse IMO.

If that's the case, then the US has one hell of a moral debt.
