In Colossians 2:8-9 we read; Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

For in him (Jesus) dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

Matthew 28:18 we read; And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, "All" power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

With all the events taking place in the world, we hear the word God being mentioned throughout our news media.

However, with the combinding of just these two verses doesnt it tell us the Jesus is running the show now?

He should be in the lives of His people - yes!
When we have Christ we have everything we need for salvation and right living.

People are aware of God, they are God conscious, but the media portrays God in a very different way to the way to KNOW Him, as Christians.

well why would you put these two verses together..
I think you need to take them in the context which they were written ..
Now Jesus is running the show and always has been. He allows us to do our thing until he calls the end of it. but these verses are not really saying that.

Matt 28:18 After Jesus said that all power was given to him then what did he say?? He followed up saying what we were to do because of what he just said.. He is sending the Christian in the power that is given to him so that the Christian will have power to evangelise and teach ...

Take the verses in their context..You don't go combining verses to prove something, You see what they say and that is what they prove..

It's yet another verse telling converts not to listen to other people. Religion is about emotional control. If the converts start listening to other people, then they'll have a harder time convincing them that their superstition is the true one. Since their arguments really don't stand the test of reason, they have to limit how much exposure the converts get to outside ideas.

Jesus was God in the flesh. God became a man and dwelt among us.
Also the bible teaches that Jesus was alive before he came to earth.(old testament)
No one can go to the Father except through Jesus.
